Twenty-time Grand Slam winner, Roger Federer, didn’t take part in the season’s first Grand Slam event in Australia, disappointing his legions of fans who were eagerly awaiting his return.
The Swiss ace has been out of action since his semifinal defeat to Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open last year.
However, Federer is closely following the first Grand Slam of the year. He complimented Thanasi Kokkinakis after he won his opening-round match.

Apart from tennis, he also has a keen eye on other sporting action. For instance, he put up a post on Instagram, congratulating Tom Brady for winning the Super Bowl.

Roger Federer Wishes Fans a Happy Chinese New Year
The Swiss superstar put up a post today, wishing his Chinese fans from all over the world a ‘Happy Chinese New Year’. It is a short clip, in which Federer is speaking in mandarin (Chinese language). The Chinese Lunar New Year is being celebrated on the 12th of February this year.
Usually, the celebrations for the Chinese New Year last for 16 days. This year, the festival began on the 11th of February and will continue till the 26th of the month.
Roger has a sizeable fanbase in China, having won the Shanghai Rolex Masters twice, in 2014 and 2017. When he won in 2017, he attempted to speak a few words in mandarin after the match.

Coming to Roger playing tennis this season, his agent confirmed that he will be seen in Doha for the ATP 250 Masters event, which begins from the 8th of March.

Federer has tasted success at the venue before, winning the title previously on three occasions, in 2005, 2006, and 2011.
