Conor McGregor is one of the biggest names in combat sports. He is a former Champion in the UFC’s Featherweight and Lightweight divisions. ‘Notorious’ headlined 5 of the top 6 highest-selling UFC pay per views and is one of the names involved in a plethora of dream fight scenarios. One of these became a reality when ‘Notorious’ entered the boxing ring to take on Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather.

A video posted on YouTube gives us a glimpse of McGregor just a year after he had his first UFC fight against Marcus Brimage.

Conor McGregor visits UFC Lab for a fitness challenge 

The video shows Conor McGregor visit a lab to take on a fitness challenge. Here, he sports a man bun on his head which many people may not remember. But the sides are not as short as they were in his UFC 178 match against Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier.

In the lab, McGregor tries out a variety of exercises. The first one is to check his aerobic capacity that gives one the idea of how to fit a fighter is. In addition to that, it also provides them with information about a fighter’s recovery between rounds. 

The next exercise sees McGregor do pull-ups and push-ups. These are a test of strength endurance which check the repetitions a fighter can do and measures their usage of power as they get exhausted. Furthermore, ‘Notorious’ does a few pushups in the video too.

The UFC lab official says, “UFC is about producing a huge amount of power. It was to help the dissection of the combat sport and bring it down to its components parts. This will help them improve each component to bring the fighter up.”

‘Notorious’ has certainly gone from strength to strength in the UFC which can be attributed partly to his intense work ethic as well. ‘Notorious’ is extremely active on social media. He posts regular videos showcasing his workouts. He looks extremely sharp and claimed that he is ready to fight at UFC 249 if need be.
