With each new Season in Fortnite, leaks and rumors run rampant throughout the community. Speculations based on hints, clues, and in-game files dictate the prevalence of these myths. While several take these for granted, most in the community pay no heed to these claims. Being one of the most popular games in the world comes with a price.

Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 4, has been immensely productive thus far. An influx of new players and old players returning to the game has made the Marvel-themed season a success. However, it has not stopped fans from being overly eager with speculations and ideas.

Top5Gaming, in a recent video, explained how some are manipulating these rumors and leaks for views. This is a growing concern as players tend to fall for it quite often. Simply because of the ever-evolving nature of Fortnite, these baits look exceedingly plausible.

The top baits on the internet based on Fortnite

To start off with the most prevalent rumor, players need to realize that Season 5 is still far away. Almost every other YouTube channel that makes Fortnite content has a video about it. As of September, there has been no official news about Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 5. Thus, speculating on the same seems like an exercise in futility.

Similarly, as Season 4 is based on the Marvel Universe, it was quite expected that comic-book character skins would be coveted. Recently, an image of Miles Morales Spider-Man from Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse stirred up a discussion about Fortnite. Apparently, it had to do with pre-ordering Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PlayStation 5. This image on social media states that a free Spider-Man skin would be available in Fortnite for players who purchase the game early on.

The Fortnite community is also expecting a live event. Travis Scott’s Astronomical tour was one of the biggest surprises Epic Games pulled off. Lately, speculations have suggested that Post Malone would come to Fortnite soon. However, these rumors are unfounded as neither the artist nor Epic Games have hinted at anything of the sort.

Top5Gamkng debunked how the image that started the rumor was a screenshot used for clout.

Another prevalent bait has to do with the vault on the Helicarrier or the spawn island. Several streamers have reported opening the vault, although the game does not have a key card for that yet. The presence of the vault makes the Helicarrier a critical place in the future. However, without the key card, it is inert, and thus, all the rumors of opening it become more alluring.

While most of these rumors and speculations target the obvious inclusions in the game, some of these do come true. Epic Games like to hide clues and hints in plain sight. Thus, speculations are sometimes beneficial for the community, but blatantly unfounded claims and rumors are a bit too much at times.
