The 2019 season ended on a sour note for Bruce Arians’ Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In his first season in Florida, Arians led the Bucs to a 7-9 finish at the end of the regular season. Tampa Bay finished third in the NFC South Division. Despite a disappointing outing, there were plenty of positives for the Bucs to build on heading into 2020. A major flaw in the Bucs’ offense was the inconsistency of starting quarterback Jameis Winston. The former Heisman Trophy winner became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw 30 TDs and 30 interceptions in the same season. However, the Florida-based organization moved quickly to bring in the one and only Tom Brady.
Brady was drafted by the New England Patriots in 2000 but made his NFL debut a year later. The rest is history. 20 years and six Super Bowl trophies later, Brady ended his association with New England and opted for a new adventure in Florida. After his signing, the Bucs moved quickly to convince another former Patriots player, Rob Gronkowski, to step out of retirement and return to the NFL.
