WATCH: UFC 246 Gets Bloodied As Fighter Maycee Barber Fights With Broken Leg

Roxane Modafferi outclassed fan-favorite Maycee Barber in one of the most anticipated match-ups in UFC prelims history. But the underdog proved all the critics wrong, as Roxane picked up a unanimous decision victory against rising Maycee Barber. First, we saw Roxanne Modafferi defying the odds and outclassing the unbeaten prospect, Maycee Barber. We saw Former champion, Anthony Pettis getting outclassed and submitted by Diego Ferreira. However, the heavyweight bout between Aleksei Oleinik and Maurice Greene. The Conor McGregor vs Donald Cerrone is the main event. But how good has the rest of the UFC 246 card been?

UFC 246 saw a huge upset when Maycee Barber got outclassed by the veteran, Roxanne Modafferi. Modafferi was a 10 to 1 underdog going into the fight, however, he defied the odds with an impressive and dominant performance at UFC 246.

“I want to prove that I’m not just a veteran gatekeeper,” Modafferi said after the statement victory. “I’ve been training everything very hard and I hope to get better and better,”  Roxane Modafferi said after her victory against fab favorite Barber.

Modafferi dominated the entire three rounds to win the fight via unanimous decision with 30-26, 30-26 and 30-27. It looked like a one-sided fight, as Modafferi showed absolute class as she outclassed Maycee. This is the fun about UFC, a fighter wins through his grit and hard work. While it doesn’t take anything away from Barber’s performance, and her incredible journey in UFC. However, it does speak volumes about Modafferi’s fighting skills which was so far not appreciated enough. Additionally, Maycee’s character speaks courage. She fought despite breaking her leg, and fought a befitting battle against one of the best in the flyweight division right now.

With a win over Maycee in of the most anticipated match-ups in the card, she sets herself up for higher goals in the Women’s flyweight division. Modafferi’s dominant performance from start to finish was exemplary. She caught Maycee with a solid punch early in the first round and followed it up with brilliant ground and pound. Even in the second round, she landed a strong jab at Maycee, which dropped the future prospect. It was Modafferi from there. After outclassing Maycee in striking with some lethal blows, she made it look like a squash match when it came to the ground.
