“I am nervous for Roger Federer” – Michael Jordan

In 2014, the two legends collaborated to help design a new Federer shoe inspired by a classic 1988 Air Jordan model. Subsequently, Jordan came as a special guest in Roger Federer’s courtside box at the US Open 2014.

“It’s unbelievable. I am nervous for him. At the end of the day you know I have played in many arenas especially in Madison Square Garden but now I am more nervous now than even when I played,” he told ESPN.

Jordan was also fascinated by how smooth Federer looked on court. He revealed that he does not know anything about tennis but felt that the Swiss Maestro can win the US Open.

“He looks so smooth. I’ve seen a lot of him on TV, but you don’t understand how fundamental and smooth he can make it look. It’s fascinating how smooth. He makes the shoes look a lot,” Michael added.

“I know nothing about tennis. He’s a good athlete. I know he played basketball a bit. I think he’s got a good chance. That’s why I’m here. I hope he can win it,” Michael Jordan concluded.
