There are times when we see players on fire. They just play amazing tennis and it seems like nobody could beat them. But no tennis player played the way David Nalbandian did in the 2007 Madrid Open as he beat every single member of the ‘Big 3’ in that tournament. Check it out.

Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic, or rather the ‘Big 3’ have been the most dominating players in the history of tennis. Beating anyone of them would be a great achievement but beating all 3 of them and beating them in the same tournament is something most people could not imagine.

Well, David Nalbandian did the impossible and beat all 3 of them in 3 consecutive matches. He started off by thrashing Rafa 6-1 6-2 in the quarterfinals and went on to beat Novak in straight sets in the semifinals. In the final, he dropped a set against Federer but managed to come back and win the 2007 Madrid Open.

David Nalbandian is one of the only players to have ever done something like this. Many other tennis players like Stan Wawrinka have come close beating 2 members of the ‘Big 3’ in the same tournament. This shows how good the ‘Big 3’ is which raises the question – who is the best among them?

That is the most controversial debate in tennis history with people arguing for all 3 of them. Ultimately, the GOAT is decided by record for the most Grand Slams. Currently, Roger Federer holds that record but that could change soon. This is because Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have come extremely close and might just go past him.
