Jon Jones is probably the most dominant fighter in the history of UFC. He has never been finished inside the octagon, with his sole loss coming off via disqualification due to illegal strikes. Jones has dominated the light heavyweight division for a very long time. He is the undisputed UFC light-heavyweight champion of the world and will look to defend his title against Dominick Reyes next at UFC 242.

However, before establishing his name in UFC, Jones competed in the independent promotions. He put some brilliant performances in the process. With 25 wins to his name, Jones is currently the #1 pound for pound champion of the world.

Jones started his MMA career in 2008 and made his UFC debut in his 7th MMA fight in the same year. Dominantly, Jones was impressive throughout his fight MMA fight, that last less than two minutes.

Jones was an absolute star on the day of his debut. He joined UFC riding on a six fight win streak. Jones faced Brad Bernard in his first MMA fight, and picked up an impressive victory under two minutes. At FFP: Untamed 20, Jon Jones knocked out Bernard early in the first round in a catchweight bout at 210lb.

It was Jones’ only fight at the heavyweight division. Recently, Jones has opened up on the idea of moving to the heavyweight division. He also said that after defending his title belt against Dominick Reyes come UFC 247, he might jump weight.

What’s next for Jones?

Jon Jones has teasted a super fight with UFC middlewieght champion Israel Adesanya. However, it’s unlikely that the fight will take place this year. Jones thinking about a future at heavyweight, also lowers the possibility of a fight with Adesanya.

In the press conference for UFC 247, Jones talked about the potential weight cut issues across divisions. However, Jones first challenge will be to go past Dominick Reyes coming February. Reyes is undefeated, and is the next potential fighter who will look to give Jones his first loss inside the octagon.
