Novak Djokovic the imitator was a big hit on Tour earlier in his career. His imitations were absolutely spot on as he picked up quirky habits and rituals of players.

Novak morphing into Maria Sharapova was perhaps the most popular one of his bits. Of all players, Sharapova stood out the most with her idiosyncrasies, which Djokovic picked up fairly well and easily.

Sharapova was hardly the only player Novak took to impersonating. Among the men’s players, Rafael Nadal probably has most the distinct quirks. Nole took inspiration from him too.

Here’s a look at Djokovic mimicking Maria and Nadal.

Here he is again, this time partnering up with Grigor Dimitrov to give the fans a look at Sharapova’s serve and return stance.

During her post-match press conference, Maria was shown the video of her then boyfriend Dimitrov and Djokovic imitating her. She was laughing as hard a anyone. She even went on to say that she had stopped doing many of those things on court.

Maria was quite the sport too when it came to Novak impersonating her. In fact, the two had some fun with it too during a promotional event for their equipment brand Head. The pair had a wonderful commercial together for the company.

Novak wasn’t taking it lightly either, he was in complete character with a wig handy to complete his look.

As you can see, Maria was just as entertained as the lot of us.

Djokovic did not hesitate to mimic Rafa right in front of him either! But it was all in fun when they were playing an exhibition match in Argentina.

Here is another one in some really good spirit after a final between the pair. Djokovic lost, but did not mind entertaining the fans just a little more.

While Novak did all these impersonations to entertain the fans and bring some laughter into the game, there were those who did not appreciate it. But as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone, why not?

Sadly though, Djokovic has stopped doing these funny impersonations in recent years. He is just too busy winning all the trophies in tennis. Maybe once he retires, we can get him back to it.
