Check out the match that featured Serena Williams, Stan Wawrinka, Gael Monfils, and Caroline Wozniacki.

She talked as much as anyone could during this match. She faked grunts. talked about her volleying skills and to top it all off – she sang ‘Sorry’ by Justin Bieber in the middle of a point. I am sure everyone who came that day would have had a good time seeing this.

The mixed doubles at the 2016 BNP Paribas Showdown was such a huge success that it was decided to be held as an official event in 2017. It looked like the event was only going to get bigger but sadly after 2017, BNP Paribas withdrew as a sponsor thereby canceling the event.

Many people were extremely unhappy about this but they were not left hanging. That same year, an even bigger exhibition was born – The Laver Cup. This event became so successful that it became an officially sanctioned ATP tour event from 2019.

This event is, however, a men’s event and I am sure everybody will be wanting an event that will feature female tennis players. Hopefully, there will be a proposal for such an event once the tennis season returns and most likely, it should lead to the creation of another great exhibition.
