When Conor McGregor entered the TUF 31 ring, he brought more than just his fighting prowess – controversy followed suit. The Irish superstar’s decision to add his own fighters to the show stirred up a storm, and even Dana White had to address the commotion. Amidst the uproar, Brad Katona, one of McGregor’s SBG Ireland teammates, found himself in an unusual position.

Having previously appeared on TUF 27, Katona’s hopes of securing a second chance in the UFC soared. After two losses in the octagon against Hunter Azure and Merab Dvalishvili, the Canadian fighter racked up an impressive four consecutive wins in Brave CF. Moreover, the TUF 31 veteran hails from SBG gym in Ireland, where McGregor is from.

In the latest episode, he emerged victorious against Carlos Vera, handing McGregor’s team their fifth consecutive loss. However, it appears that not all is well within the TUF 31 camp, particularly when it comes to Katona.

Kurt Holobaugh, a participant on the show, didn’t shy away from roasting Katona, shedding light on the tensions surrounding him. According to MMAJunkie, Holobaugh revealed that the other fighters were well aware of Katona’s SBG background.

“Me and all the other guys already knew that Brad (Katona) was an SBG guy. We knew he wasn’t on the team he wanted to be on. Nobody liked Brad. I don’t have a problem with Brad, but everybody kind of didn’t like Brad.”

“There were a lot of times where we’d get done with our training session where we’re tired and hungry. We like to get back to the house as quick as we can. Brad would lallygag and he liked to hang out with the other team for a second. A lot of our guys didn’t like that too much.”
