In a recent interview with Ubitennis, Patrick Mouratoglou was asked whether there will be a new Grand Slam champion in the year 2020. He did not think it would happen at the French Open as he said,
“In Roland Garros, it’s going to be difficult as I heard there is a Spanish guy who is going to play again. Probably, every year, we know at the start of Roland Garros who is going to win. We just don’t know against whom.”

Many will agree with what Patrick has said here as Rafael Nadal is so dominating at the French Open. He has won 12 titles there and he will be looking to add a 13th title to his collection. However, this may force him to miss the US Open.

This prediction seems to be right considering recent events. The Spaniard has confirmed his Madrid Open which starts a day after the US Open and in addition to that, Rafa was seen practicing on clay-courts.
While many would love to see Rafa play the US Open, it may not happen. He will play the French Open and hopefully, he will win his 13th title there.
