Many other sports like soccer, Formula1, boxing, and MMA have resumed their events without fans. Venus feels that tennis should follow suit and resume while following the right protocols and keep those involved in a safe environment.
“I think a lot of sports are returning. A lot of people want to see sports at this point. It’s been very exhausting being at home. So having somethings go back… People want to see it now. It will make people happy. I think we should try,” Venus Williams told Tennis Majors.

Tennis requires a lot of international traveling week after week. Consequently, it remains under suspension longer than most sports. However, if the situation demands to play with no fans, the organizers should hold the event behind closed doors.
Moreover, many lower-level professionals fell into deep financial crisis during the hiatus as they solely depend on tournament earnings to make a living. Hence, they will be hoping the season resumes soon. It is still uncertain when the tour restarts, however, reports suggest the final decision about the future of the tour will come by June 15.
