Tony Pulis looks set to join West Bromwich Albion F.C. after he was sacked by Crystal Palace last week. When and if this move does go through, Pulis will become the 5th manager after Roy Hodgson to be in-charge at West Brom since May 2012.

There were rumours of Tony Pulis being concerned with the managerial structure of the club, but after being reassured of having an important role over transfer signings, he seems to have come to an agreement.

The former Stoke and Crystal Palace manager is expected to be seen at the stand at Upton Park, where West Brom play their New Year’s clash away against West Ham. WBA are hanging one a point above the relegation zone at 16th position following their 2-0 defeat at Stoke.

Tony Pulis has had an extensive managerial career. Starting with Bournemouth in 1992, he managed for Gillingham, Bristol City and Portsmouth before being appointed as Stoke’s manager in 2002. He did have a stint in the middle at Plymouth for the 2005-06 season before returning to Stoke. He left the club for Crystal palace in November 2013 before this opportunity.

He will most certainly not come cheap after stories of a seven figure bonus rewarded to him by Crystal Palace last season when they were doomed to relegation to Championship with one point on their table before he arrived in November 2013. Pulis’ stature only increased since he left Stoke in May 2013 after establishing them in the Premier League and getting to the FA Cup final and into Europe only for the board to decide they wanted Mark Cartwright as the technical director to oversee transfers.

He will be replacing Alan Irwine who has had just 4 wins in the 19 games they have played this season. He’ll be the fourth manager in just over a year for the Premier League club which has been seeking stability in its ranks.
