Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner appears to have his own suspicions regarding Ferrari. This, mind you, is a team that has consistently outperformed the Milton Keynes-based outfit in the past few seasons. And at present, Ferrari happen to be on second, once again, ahead of Red Bull on the Constructor Standings for 2019.

But even as only 3 races have been done with a plethora of contests remaining, it doesn’t appear as if Ferrari could be outpaced by the Christian Horner-guided team. This is not only because of the fact that the 2019 car happens to be one that’s perhaps not a track leading winning machine but also because of the fact that it’s been admitted by the team itself that 2019’s realistic goal is to be cutting the gap to the leaders at the front.

That told, what are to be the suspicions that Christian Horner seems to be having about the Mattia Binotto-led side?

It does appear that a few interesting snippets were shared with the media in lines with the media concerning Ferrari handling the ‘fuel’ in the contests. So what’s exactly happening and could it be that the Scuderia stable have irked the Red Bull boss?

For whatever reason he might have made this funny comparison, in a recent interaction with Germany’s Auto Motor und (and) Sport, Horner is known to have said, “Ferrari fuel tastes like grapefruit juice.”

To that end, there were obviously reactions from different parts of the paraphernalia including the media, paddock and well, just about anyone who dubs herself or himself a ‘pundit.’

It was believed that Ferrari and Shell might be pushing boundaries in the ensuing contest, this being the 70th running of Formula 1.

But all that told, when contacted, Christian Horner simply denied any of the statements that had him as the speaker of those comments. So well, what does that even imply?

While a lot many statements happen to simply be delivered to rile up one’s opponents, there doesn’t seem to be any legitimacy that the Englishman may have stated what was attributed to him. Meanwhile, it’s worthwhile to note that his team are partnering with ExxonMobil to push hard.

He did, however, share the following when denying the rumors:

Suspicious is probably the wrong word,” said Horner when contacted about the claims he made regarding Ferrari’s fuel.

“Ferrari are obviously doing a good job because they have been, particularly in a straightline, the stand out competitors this year. Obviously, fuel is part of that performance and I think they are doing a good job.”
