The 2026 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl is all set to take place at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium on January 9. This year’s Peach Bowl features two of the Big Ten powerhouses, Indiana and Oregon, with one earning a spot at the national championship game. While the fans are solely focused on the result, most athletic directors and conference commissioners are focused on the big prize money they can pocket for their funding. With that being said, here’s the complete breakdown of the Peach Bowl payout, including the bonuses and rewards they earn from the CFP.

What is the Total Peach Bowl 2026 Payout?

Just for making it this far to the Peach Bowl, both Indiana and Oregon already come with a massive payday. Both schools pocket $6 million for featuring, in addition to the $4 million for making it to the quarterfinals and another $4 million for making it to the 12-team playoff seedings. With that being said, each team will earn $14 million as guaranteed money from the Peach Bowl.

While those dollar figures sound insane, the money does not directly land in the school’s fund all at once, but in their conference funding. Since both belong to the Big Ten Conference, both Indiana and Oregon will add $28 million to their conference fund for reaching this far. The earned money will be shared among other schools in their conference.

Being the All Big Ten matchup, they will combinedly earn $12 million for appearing and $6 million for winning. This will add a total of $18 million to the B1G funding exclusively from the Peach Bowl. The revenue will be shared by the conference rules and bylaws, with the team reaching out to the national championship game, making the most out of it.

What are the Bonuses for Coaches for winning the Peach Bowl?

Both Curt Cignetti and Dan Lanning have already earned $150,000 for leading their program to the CFP 12 team seedings. Their bonus rose to $250,000 for reaching the quarterfinals and $500,000 for making it to the semifinals. Either Cignetti or Lanning, whoever manages to win the Peach Bowl and make it to the national championship game, will earn $750,000. Peach Bowl 2026 Team Payout Breakdown

For a team that reaches the Peach Bowl as a semifinalist, it already has $14 million in base payouts for its conference. On top of that, the CFP distributes another $9 million in expense stipends across three rounds, bringing the total to $23 million tied to a single playoff appearance.

Either Indiana or Oregon, whichever school makes it to the national championship game, will receive an additional $6 million, earning $20 million for the conference.

How Do Peach Bowl Payouts Compare to Other New Year’s Six Bowls?

The bowl game itself doesn’t decide these payouts, as everything runs through the centralized CFP guidelines, with conferences earning money based on how far their teams advance, irrespective of which bowl they play in.

When a team plays in one of the six New Year’s Bowl Games, the Fiesta Bowl, Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Orange Bowl, Cotton Bowl, and Peach Bowl will all follow the same financial model. There’s no special bonus a team can make from one bowl.

However, it’s a completely different story if it weren’t a CFP semifinal or the national title game. During the regular seasons, teams play “Contract Bowls,” such as the Rose, Sugar, and Orange, that operate under separate deals with specific conferences, including the Big Ten, SEC, and Big 12. Those deals will have their own payouts and vary based on their mutually agreed modules based on those leagues.

The “Access Bowls,” such as the Fiesta, Cotton, and Peach, don’t have those conference tie-ins. During the non-CFP years, they adhere to a standard $4 million payout.
