When Will Novak Djokovic Return?

It’s been a while since fans witnessed the World No. 1, Novak Djokovic in action. The Serbian ace was last competing at the US Open final, where he failed to overcome the Russian powerhouse, Daniil Medvedev. The man from Belgrade was on course to do the impossible, winning a historic Calendar Grand Slam, but was stopped in his tracks by a worthy opponent. 

However, a recent piece of news states Novak Djokovic might soon be back on the court. The 20-time Grand Slam champion will represent his nation Serbia in the forthcoming Davis Cup 2021. His compatriot Filip Krajinovic revealed, “Novak is with us. I would like to use the next three tournaments to raise my game before the Davis Cup. We are going there with all the best players, so our goal is to lift the trophy, just like we did in 2010.”

Novak Djokovic is one of a kind

Djokovic’s team members consider him an integral part of their plans, should they challenge for the trophy. Undoubtedly, having a player of Novak’s caliber will only be a positive development for any team. Speaking of the same, Filip remembered the time Serbia won the tournament in 2010.

Notably, the 2021 Davis Cup Finals will be held from November 25th to December 5th and will be hosted by Austria, Italy, and Spain. It is one of the most vintage tournaments in tennis that has produced some of the most iconic games over the years.

On the business end of things, Djokovic had a remarkable 2021 season. Star of the show throughout, he won the first three Grand Slam tournaments of the year. But unfortunately, his dream run was put to an end at the US Open.

Hence, it is great news for his fans to know that he will be stepping back on the courts soon. It will be interesting to see how he performs, especially in the ATP Finals this year. What are your thoughts on the maestro’s return?
