American teenager Coco Gauff is one of the youngest sporting athletes in the world. In recent years, she has made considerable improvement in her game. She has registered wins over the best players in the game. This year, she made it to the quarterfinal of a Grand Slam event for the first time.
However, there is a lot of effort that has to be done behind the scenes. In Coco Gauff’s case, her father Corey has been instrumental in grooming her career. Along with him, former French tennis player Jean-Christophe Faurel has been in the Gauff camp since early 2019.

His influence has helped her achieve some incredible results. During the Wimbledon Championships 2019, Coco managed to knock out five-time champion Venus Williams in straight sets. After that, the teenager went on the win her first WTA title in Linz.
During her early days, Gauff’s parents gave up on their careers in order to help their daughter to excel. Corey became her primary coach and eventually got her into the Patrick Mouratoglou Tennis Academy. He has been part of many top players’ careers and most notably Serena Williams.

At the Wimbledon Championships this season, Coco is accompanied by her father Corey, Jean-Christophe Faurel, and Patrick Mouratoglou is often seen in her box too. To have an entourage accompany for matches is surely a positive sign. When a player is down in a match, they can always look up to their box who provides motivation during critical times.
Gauff has impressed with her performances in the past few seasons, reaching the quarterfinals of the French Open this year, followed by making it to the second week of the Wimbledon Championships. With time and being under the guidance of such quality people, the 17-year-old will reach new heights in the game.
