Cooper Teare is a rising middle- and long-distance runner who has constantly been raising the bar with his outstanding performance. Teare is now eyeing prominence among elite runners after showing his mettle on the track during his collegiate years. The California native is a 2x NCAA champion in the outdoor 5000m and indoor distance medley relay events. He is also a 3000m runner-up at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

At the beginning of the year, Cooper Teare delivered a spectacular performance at the BU Terrier DMR Challenge/Last Chance meet, finishing just 0.15 seconds behind training partner Cole Hocker in the men’s indoor 5,000-meter race. Teare clocked 12:57.97, securing second place in a nail-biting race, while Hocker edged ahead with a 12:57.82 victory. While he is paving his way to becoming a lead runner, one person who is constantly cheering him up is none other than his girlfriend, ​Rachel Louise McArthur. Meet Cooper Teare’s girlfriend, Rachel McArthur

Born on August 4, 1999, in Virginia, McArthur attended Patriot High School in Bristow, Virginia, where she excelled in cross country and track and field. While focusing on running, she might have never thought that someday, her passion would also result in finding a soulmate with shared interests. 

McArthur is also no less of an achiever than Teare. She is also a distinguished American middle-distance runner who specializes in the 1500-meter race. Like her boyfriend, McArthur also won in the women’s mile at the BU DMR Challenge in 2025, winning in 4:26.00.

She is not just a boss on track, but also off track. Off the track, she’s all about giving back—coaching local athletes in Virginia and volunteering at a Pennsylvania animal shelter. What is Rachel McArthur’s profession?

Rachel absolutely owned her sophomore year in 2018. She snagged the USTFCCCA Mid-Atlantic Region Women’s Athlete of the Year title after winning the regional cross country crown, then flexed even harder by finishing as the BIG EAST Championships runner-up, a huge leap from her freshman season. And it was not a one-time achievement; she kept crushing it all through college, racking up NCAA Championship appearances.

After graduating from Colorado Boulder, Rachel signed with ASICS and dived headfirst into pro racing. With Cooper Teare by her side, her journey is looking just as glorious as ever. 

When did Cooper Teare and Rachel McArthur start dating?

These two speedsters have been low-key relationship goals since at least the summer of 2021. Yep, they are a thing. Rachel’s even given fans glimpses of their track power-couple vibes on Instagram. For instance, she shared pictures with Cooper on August 18, 2024, wishing him on his birthday. With Rachel holding a pom-pom and cheering him, Cooper Teare is all set to participate in Michael Johnson’s much-awaited Grand Slam Track, which is kicking off at Kingston in Jamaica, starting April 4th. He is going to compete in the long distance along with a chosen few, such as Grant Fisher, Yared Nuguse, and others.
