2018 was a great year for Kiki Bertens as she made it the Wimbledon quarterfinals and finished the year on No 9 in the WTA rankings. To cap it off, Bertens got engaged to the love of her life. When Did Remko De Rijke Marry Kiki Bertens?

Kiki Bertens and Remko De Rijke finally tied the knot on November 30th, 2019. The Dutch player again took to Instagram to ventilate her feelings for her husband. She captioned the post as “What a day”. Her fellow players also congratulated Kiki on the momentous occasion.

Her doubles partner Julia Georges described the day as “unbelievable” and thanked Kiki for allowing her to be a part of her special day. Doubles player Kristina Mladonevic also wished the couple well.

How Was Kiki Bertens’ 2019 Season?

Kiki Bertens finished 2019 as world number 9. However, the Dutch had broken into the top five in the middle of the year.  She won two titles at St Petersburg and Madrid. Despite being an early favourite to win the French Open, she had to retire in the second match due to an illness.

Bertens will be hoping that 2020 is hassle-free for her is she wants to be more consistent in the knockouts.
