“Who the H*ll Is Danny Hamlin?” – Denny Hamlin Was Absolutely Mortified When His Name Was Spelt Wrong

Denny Hamlin is best known for his three Daytona 500 wins, including two back-to-back triumphs. Back in 2020, he won his third Daytona 500 and his second victory at the iconic race in a row. However, he wasn’t too pleased when the ticker tape announcing his 2020 win got his name wrong.

When he saw the ticker roll by, he exclaimed, “Hey! Wait! Danny Hamlin?! Who the h*ll is Danny Hamlin? At least I left my truck here.” This was a reference to the fact that there was a FedEx truck right under the ticker tape banner.

All jokes aside, at least he was glad that he got the Daytona 500 win under his belt.
Do you have an evil twin brother that you're secretly hiding from us??😁😁🤪

Interestingly, this was hardly the first time Hamlin called out someone for spelling his name wrong. Back in 2016, the USA Today newspaper went a step further. According to the Joe Gibbs Racing driver’s tweet, he was called ‘Hamilton’.

Later on, the driver himself was called out, because it turned out to be some clever Photoshop work.
How did the fans react to Denny Hamlin seeing his name spelled wrong?
There was a more realistic example from Motorsport.com. Over there, a mistyped tag made it seem as if Lewis Hamilton had a long-lost brother called Denny Hamilton. Fortunately, it appears that the error has been caught, as no more articles used that tag. Suffice to say, the fans had a lot of fun when they found out about the various Denny Hamlin gaffes.

There were a couple of driver name puns, including one for Dale Earnhardt Jr too.
