Antoine Griezmann – Barcelona

It was announced prior to the end of the La Liga season that Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann would join Barcelona for £104 million. Twelve months ago, Griezmann was on his way to Barcelona but pulled out of the deal at the 11 hour. Could it happen again this offseason?

Although Manchester United are said to be “hijacking” Griezmann’s move, there is little doubt that the Frenchman will join Barcelona this time around. Griezmann was booed by Atletico Madrid fans on the final day of the La Liga season. It was just a taste of what he will get next term in a Barcelona kit.

Gareth Bale – Manchester United

After guiding Real Madrid to the 2018 Champions League trophy, Gareth Bale experienced his worst season at the Santiago Bernabeu. Bale spent the entire season out of form and was unable to fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon said Bale staying at the club is “impossible”. Real Madrid are set to overhaul the squad and Manchester United looks likely to be the only team capable or willing to cover Bale’s wages and transfer. With a recent history of buying overpriced, underperforming players, it seems likely Bale will end up at Old Trafford.

Luka Jovic – Real Madrid

Luka Jovic finished off a two-year loan spell at Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt by scoring 27 goals in 46 games in all competitions. Eintracht Frankfurt triggered their purchase clause in Jovic’s contract in April, allowing them to buy the Serbian for just £8m from Benfica.

Real Madrid are in pole position to land Jovic for over £50m. Eintracht Frankfurt did qualify for the Europa League once more, so Jovic could be retained. It is more likely the Eagles will cash-in on the striker, however.

Timo Werner – Liverpool

RB Leipiz striker Timo Werner will not be at the club come next season. The German has one year left on his contract and already told the club he won’t re-sign.

Bayern Munich and Liverpool are hot on the heels of Werner and the latter is keen to wrap up a deal as soon as possible. RB Leipzig will want to cash-in on Werner before they lose him for free. It is doubtful they will sell their top goal scorer to a Bundesliga rival, which means Liverpool will benefit.

Matthijs de Ligt – Barcelona

Barcelona are in need of adding fresh players to a worn down, ageing squad. Griezmann and Ajax’s Frenkie de Jong will give them life in the attack and midfield. Meanwhile, Ajax centre-back Matthijs de Ligt will provide quality at the back.

De Ligt has become a must-have centre-back following Ajax’s brilliant run to the Champions League semi finals. Several clubs want to sign the Dutchman, but Barcelona are in pole position to land him. Perhaps the only thing going against De Ligt is the transfer and salary demands of agent Mino Raiola.
