From the third round, Serena could face seeded players, and for her, it is a tough projection. There could be a repeat of the 2018 Wimbledon final between Serena Williams and Angelique Kerber in the 3rd round of Wimbledon 2021. Kerber had defeated Serena in the 2018 Wimbledon final.

According to the seeds, Serena could either face ninth seed, Belinda Bencic, or American teenage sensation and 25th seed Coco Gauff in the fourth round. Serena leads the head-to-head versus Bencic whereas she is yet to play against Coco Gauff.

Elina Svitolina and Ashleigh Barty are potential threats for Serena Williams

Then in the quarterfinal, Serena could face World No. 5 and third seed Elina Svitolina or French Open 2021 runner-up Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. If she reaches the semifinal, then World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty, World No. 7 Bianca Andreescu, or World No. 14 Victoria Azarenka could be her potential opponents.

Serena is in the top half and hence missed a lot of the other players in the other half. But if she plays the final, it could be against World No. 4 Aryna Sabalenka, World No. 6 Sofia Kenin, or World No. 9 Iga Swiatek.
