It’s down to the final two and the stage is set at the Wimbledon Championships 2021 women’s singles final. We have World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty all set to take on Czech player Karolina Pliskova for the ultimate prize in the sport.

Ashleigh Barty vs Karolina Pliskova: Preview

Both players have played a brilliant tournament so far. They deserve to be in the final as they have certainly emerged as the strongest contenders.

First up, Ashleigh Barty has only gotten better as the tournament has progressed. She has registered some impressive wins over Ajla Tomljanovic and most recently against Angelique Kerber.

On the other hand, Karolina Pliskova has been equally magnificent. She has glided through her initial rounds and faced a stern test over Seeded No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals. 

During her match against the Belarusian player, she was down a set and somehow found the formula to see her through the finishing line. 

Barty vs Pliskova: Head-to-Head 

Both players are aware of each other’s games. They have faced each other seven times prior to tomorrow’s meeting. Out of their seven matches so far, Ashleigh has won five of those. 

They have faced each other twice on grass and share the tie at one win each. Their most recent meeting was on the clay courts in Stuttgart. It was the Australian athlete that won the duel.

Barty vs Pliskova: Prediction

It promises to be a close contest. It has all the makings of going down as a spectacular final. Fans should be eager to get a glimpse of two of the top contenders going for the title. 

Given the current form, one can say Barty has the slightest edge ahead of Pliskova. However, things always change directions. It will be interesting to see how things unfold tomorrow. 

Prediction: Ashleigh Barty to win in three sets.
