American teenager Coco Gauff is all set to take on former champion Angelique Kerber in the fourth round of the Wimbledon Championships 2021. It will be the first time they face each other and it promises to be an exciting duel. There is no better place than competing on the grass at the All England Club.

The young American is in bright form. This time, Coco Gauff is much more confident than she was back in 2019 when she created headlines by making it to the second week.

The 17-year-old has won her opening three matches without dropping a set. On the other hand, Angelique Kerber has been managing to sail herself through the rough seas she encountered in the first week.

Out of her three matches, two of them have been decided in the third set. In the third round, she was down a set and was clearly looking off-page when the rain came down and halted play. However, she did come back a different player upon resumption.

These athletes have never faced each other which is why the contest will be more exciting as both players are aware of each other’s style of play but the tactics applied will be different.

The French Open quarterfinalist has been in sensational form on the grass. However, the real test begins in the second week when the opponents start getting tougher and the matches change situations constantly.

The German knows what it takes to come on top of this battle. Having won the Wimbledon Championships in 2018, she is well accustomed to the surroundings of the All England Club. 

Prediction: Coco Gauff to win in three sets.

Their match is scheduled to take place on Center Court on Monday, the 5th of July. It will be the second match of the day and will be interesting to see who crosses the finishing line.
