The NFL 2023 season is in full flow with its glamour and matches. With the 6-month sporting league taking over the USA, fans are rooting for their favorite teams to win the league. The tournament is still in its nascent stage and is shaping up nicely. However, the biggest news coming out of the Week 1 matches has been Aaron Rodgers‘s injury.

The 39-year-old’s Achilles tendon scare has ended his season before it actually started! Several former players and analysts have chimed in with their assessments for the same. A highly revered ex-player is the latest to join the bandwagon, citing the biggest mistake surrounding A-Rod. He compared the New York Jets with the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins. However, there is one team that NFL veteran OJ Simpson is siding with during this season.

OJ Simpson draws Jets’ comparisons with Dolphins and Bills

The former Bills’ running back recently highlighted the New York Jets performance. He then further compared the side with two more NFL teams, Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills. The 5X Pro Bowl winner took to Twitter to dissect the chances and provide comparisons between the three sides.

He said, “Of course I’m a little disappointed with the game last night. I’m not shocked though. For those who’ve been following me…Two teams I’ve been worried about were the Jets and Miami Dolphins. Because last year they split with the Bills.”

Simpson was referring to last year’s performances. Wherein, Bills won 2 out of 3 matches against the Jets, beating them 20-12 and 27-10 in a complete domination. Furthermore, against Dolphins the Bills won and lost a game each. Now, with the injury to Aaron Rodgers and Zach Wilson stepping up with big shoes to fill, the 1973 NFL’s Most Valuable Player has name-dropped two QBs to learn from another QB on the rise.

The revered running back further highlighted three teams that have great defenses. These teams, as per Simpson, comprised Dallas Cowboys, 49ers, and New York Jets. Simpson stressed how 49ers QB Mr. Irrelevant ekes past Cowboys’ Dak Prescott and Jets’ Wilson.

He credited Brock Purdy’s match awareness, saying “Brock Purdy just plays where he doesn’t hurt the team. He didn’t try to do hero ball… Just don’t hurt the team. Just don’t throw it away. Don’t play hero ball, throw the ball away, and don’t force anything. And if he does that, this team is good enough. I’m telling you this team is loaded.” The video ended with Simpson siding with his most cherished team- the Buffalo Bills.

The new NFL season has already shown some dominant performances. However, going by the 1973 Bert Award winner, the Buffalo Bills are certainly head and shoulders above any other side.
