Teresa Weatherspoon is not only loved by the Chicago Sky but also by the rival team’s players! Weatherspoon has been following in the footsteps of Aces’ coach Becky Hammon for her likable reputation among the hoopers. She not only spent time as an NBA assistant but also filled the position of Chicago Sky’s head coach. It is only plausible that the wins and losses between the two teams may have ignited a rivalry. But, the words of Aces star state otherwise.

In a recent interview, Kiah Stokes sat with the team of ‘TJ Sports Queens’ to share insights about the WNBA world. When asked, “What WNBA teams impressed her the most,” she immediately replied, “Well, I think it’s so early, so it’s hard to tell when everyone’s record is, you know, two and two, three and one, or four and whatever, but I will say that I’m really impressed by Chicago.

As Stokes continued, she voiced her adoration for the 58-year-old coach, saying, “First off, I love T-Spoon to death; she was our player development coach when I was in New York, and I would run through a wall for her.”

She added, “I just love her and respect her so much, so seeing what she’s done with that roster, I know the energy is going to be there, the work ethic is going to be there, and they’re going to win a lot of games that way, so I would say Chicago.” This is something Kiah Stokes thinks, but what’s the reality?

Teresa Weatherspoon team vs. stats

If we take a quick glance at the statistics, it is Kiah Stokes’ team that ranks higher than Chicago Sky. The Las Vegas Aces started off the last season as No. 1 in ESPN’s WNBA Power Rankings. Though they weren’t No. 1 since the beginning of the final regular season, the New York Liberty (Teresa Weatherspoon’s ex-team) were.
