The 2023 WNBA season has provided fans with a lot to cheer about as the season finally draws to a close. From Sabrina Ionescu breaking the NBA 3-point contest record during the All-Star week to the Bay Area being awarded an expansion team, the 2023 calendar has been kind to WNBA fans. While the year has provided many highs, there have been a few lows as well. 42-year-old Diana Taurasi’s Phoenix Mercury missing out on the knockout rounds being one of them.

The 40-game WNBA season has been quite captivating. NY Liberty and defending champions Las Vegas Aces provided a full house entertainment. The two sides were the only teams to register 30+ wins this season and were also the finalists of the Commissioner’s Cup earlier this year. While the NY Liberty took home that crown, the Aces have already taken game 1 on the WNBA Finals as both sides look to vie for the title. Las Vegas Aces guard Kelsey Plum spoke to the media after the match. She was candid about minority owner Tom Brady as she reflected on his $14 million decision.

The comment from Plum came after an interviewer asked her about what it would take for Brady to “bark” in the big screen, a reference to Plum barking at the NFL legend during a game last year.

While Kelsey Plum’s comments towards Brady were hilarious to say the least, her first interaction with him a year ago was all the more comical. Taking place during a WNBA game between the Connecticut Suns and the Aces, Brady was sitting courtside with his family when Kelsey Plum “barked” at his face as she later revealed was to signify the “dawg” in him.

Brady, who was in Vegas ahead of his ‘The Match’ golfing event against Aaron Rodgers, was apparently unappalled by Kelsey’s approach. He later sent her a $1.5 million gift box, which had a signed jersey and other merchandise. While Plum continues to take a dig at her favorite athlete, Brady’s millions could be the difference for the Aces this season as they look to achieve back-to-back titles this season.
