“Bam Adebayo, the Miami Heat star, is here as well and so is his better half A’ja Wilson.” That’s how one of the commentators covering the All-Star game in Indianapolis introduced Bam. Wilson and Adebayo are the talk of the town in today’s basketball world. The duo have been friends for years and have openly supported each other during their games. From Adebayo sporting Wilson’s Nike A’One shoes during a game to Wilson referring to him as “my favorite Olympian.”, they define couple goals. But that competitive spirit among the two athletes still remains!

The rumors about them dating can be traced back to the 2024 Paris Olympics, when Bam was spotted courtside during the gold medal match between Team USA and France. Off the court, the two were constantly seen hanging out together. And the social media posts? Oh, there were plenty of those!

Although there’s been no official confirmation, A’ja and Bam have been showing up to each other’s games more frequently. As you would expect, fans have started connecting the dots about their bond. Let’s not forget that when her Gamecocks jersey was retired to the rafters, Bam was right there beside her, celebrating that moment. If that’s not a sign of something special, what is?

That said, when A’ja was asked who would win in a 1v1 match between her and Bam, she had an interesting answer. She said, “Me…It would  be a good game. But I’m gonna always say me. I don’t care who you put me up against, I am gonna always bet on myself.”

That’s exactly what you’d expect from the reigning WNBA MVP. Wilson, who is still recovering from the wrist injury she suffered against the Liberty, managed to play just 12 minutes in the All-Star game. She finished with 4 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal.

With captain Caitlin Clark and Satou Sabally already sidelined, and teammate Jackie Young also dealing with an injury, Wilson and her squad fell short against Team Collier, losing 131-151. The game wasn’t short on fireworks, though. Multiple records were broken, including the highest team and individual point totals in All-Star history.

Here’s a look at all the records that were shattered during last night’s All-Star showdown!

Team Collier go on a record-breaking rampage against A’ja Wilson and Co.

Last night was all about Napheesa Collier. What better way to debut as a starter than by leading as captain? Collier came out all guns blazing, setting a WNBA All-Star Game record for most points, with 36 points on an incredible 13-of-16 shooting. As you would expect, she walked away with MVP honors.

But Collier wasn’t the only one rewriting the record books. How can we forget about Skylar Diggins-Smith? With 11 points, 11 rebounds, and 15 assists, she didn’t just break the All-Star assists record– she also became the first player ever to record a triple-double in the event.

It may not have been A’ja Wilson’s best night on the court, but this game was more about celebration than competition. Everyone out there came to entertain the fans and have a good time with each other. And with Bam Adebayo by her side, the night likely felt even more special for A’ja.

Focus will now shift towards the W season as Wilson and the faces take on Caitlin Clark less Fever this Tuesday. Stay tuned for more updates!
