Rolling down the Strip, a convoy of classic lowrider automobiles bounced to the rhythm of celebration. Following them were five double-decker buses, and it was the last one that carried the champions. Drenched in glitter and joy, they tossed streamers and confetti to thousands of fans who had packed the Strip hours in advance. Yet, the eyes were glued to just one player – A’ja Wilson. And well, her hand.

Well, that’s the same player who was earlier criticized for having a regression year. By the end of June, she was struggling hard in the range (15–19 feet) where she’s historically found a lot of success. She was even taking fewer shots than usual. Her connecting just 20% of threes was also down by 11.7% from last year. And she noticed it all. So, when coming in for the parade, she made sure to leave an important message for her critics.

Wearing a black T-shirt emblazoned with the phrase “Re’gression Year,” A’ja Wilson poured some spotlight on her golden Infinity Gauntlet. The gauntlet, reminiscent of Marvel’s Thanos, was adorned with six colorful stones – each representing a monumental achievement in Wilson’s career.

  1. MVP: Wilson secured her fourth MVP award in 2025 and became the first-ever player in WNBA history to accomplish the feat.
  2. Defensive Player of the Year: With her unmatched defensive prowess, she earned her DPOY title for the third time. Though it was shared with Alanna Smith for the 2025 season, the recognition spoke volumes.
  3. Finals MVP: Delivering 31 points with nine rebounds and four assists, she was named Finals MVP.
  4. 5K Points: Earlier in June, A’ja became the fastest WNBA player ever to reach 5,000 points, solidifying her status as the premier superstar of the decade.
  5. Scoring Champion: She led the league in scoring, averaging 23.4 points per game.
  6. WNBA Champion: Wilson’s leadership guided the Aces to their third championship in four years, clinched with a clean 4-0 sweep against the Mercury.

The Infinity Gauntlet has long been a symbol of ultimate power and control in the Marvel universe. By wearing it, Wilson not only celebrated her individual achievements but also acknowledged the collective efforts of her team and coaches. It was a visual representation of her dominance and the Aces’ supremacy in the league. After all, Wilson became the first WNBA or NBA player to win the scoring title, regular-season MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and Finals MVP in the same season.

And, to make it even more iconic, she lifted the championship trophy with that same hand during the parade.

It was the collective effort of the team that made this feat possible. The Aces lost several key pieces from their previous championship roster, welcoming many new faces and having only three months to gel. It almost felt impossible, especially considering their 14–14 record by August 2. But after suffering one of their worst defeats – a 111–58 loss to the Minnesota Lynx – the Aces became unstoppable.

As Hammon, who just completed her fourth season with the Aces, put it best: “They came in and worked their tails off, no matter the circumstances. This is one of the most resilient, high-character groups.” And yes, they proved it. They made a stunning comeback with a 16-game winning streak, surging up to secure the No. 2 seed in the playoffs. Even in the postseason, the Aces – led by the Big Three and guided by Becky Hammon – claimed the championship title. So yes, it was a collective win.

But if you think those six records are everything Wilson accomplished this season, you might be wrong!

A’ja Wilson is already GOAT. Yes or no?

A’ja Wilson isn’t even 30, and she’s already rewritten WNBA history. From Olympic golds in Tokyo and Paris to three straight WNBA titles, Wilson has built a dynasty on her back, one bucket, one rebound, one block at a time.

Her 31 points, nine rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and two steals in the WNBA Finals are historic, too. Only five players in the league have ever filled a box score like hers in a single game – and Wilson owns three of those nights. She’s also climbed past icons like Candace Parker and Tamika Catchings on the all-time playoff scoring list, now trailing only Diana Taurasi and DeWanna Bonner.

And she’s doing all this while shattering records season after season. In 2025, she posted 1,259 points and 527 rebounds – both WNBA records when combining regular season and playoffs. She’s also the only player in history to average at least 20 points and 10 rebounds in multiple seasons. So yes, A’ja ‘s the blueprint of consistency, leadership, and unstoppable will. So what do you think? Is she the GOAT already?
