The respect between Indiana Fever’s Aliyah Boston and UCLA Bruins’ Lauren Betts runs deep. The duo recently met when Betts was invited to a Team USA training camp in December, where she learned that Boston follows her game and received some great advice from the legend herself. This was a big revelation for Lauren as she considers Aliyah her idol, so she was greatly overwhelmed by emotion. Now, Boston too has made her feelings clear about what she makes of the top 2026 prospect.

” You know it was kind of crazy, but I love Lauren. Like, I think just watching her play and just knowing how great she can be. Like, there was. I was excited that she was in the USA but that she’s dominating. I mean, she’s, you look at her, even in this USC game, the rim runs, the deep seals like she makes it hard. You have to double you have to double.”

“And if you don’t, she’s going to have a field day,” said Aliyah Boston, tipping her hat to one of UCLA’s finest. Lauren did have quite an amazing outing for the Bruins against the Trojans. Her double-double aided her team in sailing to a comfortable win against USC (80-46). Lauren made 18 points and 12 rebounds. She made the paint her own, and there was little that USC could do about that.

Betts currently leads the team in points (16.3), rebounds (8.4), and blocks (2.1). Lauren has also been named to the 2025–26 Women’s Midseason Top 25 Watch List, presented by Principal, the John R. Wooden Award, which was announced at the Los Angeles Athletic Club last Wednesday.

But hold up, that is not all. January had more gifts in store for the Spain-born player. She was named the defensive player of the year as well. Having already surpassed 1500 career points, the senior-year student wants to make the most of it in her final year.
