Caitlin Clark put almost no effort into Halloween. She scared a few neighborhood kids anyway. Still, that was not the part that left Aaliyah Boston stunned.

Before Clark went out, the Fever star FaceTimed Boston for a quick fit check. Once Boston picked up the call, she was slack-jawed.
“Wow. Wow. I like it. I’m a fan,” Boston said, who was wearing a Halloween outfit. “I love it.”
Clark didn’t dress up, but got creative with her costume. She wore a skeleton mask and a black hoodie. The video posted on X started with Clark in her costume sitting on an entryway porch. The latter part of the video featured the WNBA star hiding behind the wooden wall and suddenly appearing to scare children who came to collect their treat.
Those children probably wouldn’t have an ounce of an idea that the person playfully scaring them was one of the most famous athletes in the world.
While Clark didn’t have much success this season, she had some exciting news for Halloween. The Fever failed to move beyond the first round of these playoffs, while Angel Reese reached the WNBA Finals. However, the Fever star had some good news for herself.
Nike dropped the Caitlin 1 “Jinx” colorway on Oct. 30. The latest Halloween colorway is themed on a real-life story of the Fever star, getting inspiration from a feline that scared the life out of one of the most daring players on the basketball court.
“Caitlin Clark is not a cat person,” Nike said in a social media post. “When she was a kid, she was terrified of Jinx, her neighbor’s cat. She never forgot that cat. So when Caitlin grew up, she overcame her fear of Jinx by turning him into a pair of signature sneakers. Good thing Jinx has nine lives.”
This was perhaps the most creative Nike has become with Caitlin 1. The overall design features a black upper with Ghost Green accents. The shoe also features the CC logo on the tongue in green and a green Swoosh logo separated by a black line through it, keeping the theme intact.
There are two specific details in “Jinx” that make this colorway even more interesting. The outsole and the green details in the shoe glow when you step in the dark, and perhaps the unique part is Caitlin Clark’s Halloween-themed graphic on the insoles.
Caitlin 1 has been a massive success for Nike. The shoe giant released two colorways, “Caitlin Blue” and “Warning Code,” on Oct. 1. Many went off the shelves within hours of release. Since then, Nike has released two more colorways: “Midnight Fever” and “Jinx.”
Nike CEO Elliott Hill highlighted that Clark’s signature shoe marked the largest signature shoe launch in its history. Caitlin 1 was released in 5000 retail stores. While it indicates the growth of women’s basketball, it’s hard to miss “Clarkonomics” behind the trend.
In three years, Clark’s fame and her impact on women’s basketball haven’t been proportionally translated to the basketball court. In her three years in Indiana, Clark’s team has twice faced a first-round exit. They reached the semifinals last season, while Clark was out dealing with her injury.
The good news is, Indiana has already made a few big offseason decisions in the front office. They fired GM Amber Cox after team president Kelly Krauskopf stepped down from her position. They have hired Sheri Sam as assistant general manager, as the Fever’s offseason actions are set to draw massive attention.
