Since the 2023 NCAA Finals, Angel Reese has become a household name. Love her or hate her, there’s no denying the impact she’s had on the WNBA and player empowerment. But Reese hasn’t stayed confined to basketball. She runs her own companies, appears in movies, and hosts a podcast. Recently, she added another milestone by walking the runway at the latest Victoria’s Secret show, showing that her influence now stretches far beyond the court. So what’s next for Reese?

Recapping her experience in the podcast, Angel Reese said, “The women there were just so nice and welcoming, and they wanna see me again on many more runways, not just Victoria’s Secret, but different fashion shows. High fashion, and I’m looking forward to that because I know that’s the next thing in the catalog. So many great things are coming. I know Victoria’s Secret, we have some great things coming as well, and I’m really excited to announce that soon… And hopefully I’m walking for 10-15 years.“
Given the viral success of her appearance on the ramp, it is more than understandable why Victoria’s Secret and other brands, as well as fashion designers, are interested in Angel Reese doing another show. Not only did these companies gain more viewers for their shows, but including a young athlete from the WNBA also sends a message of inclusivity to the masses. And when there’s attention, expect our Chi-town Barbie to grab it with both hands.

While Reese did promise, she will continue on this path for the next decade and a half, but even in her debut, she became the first ever active athlete to walk the ramp for the luxury women’s wear brand. But she is leaving her imprint everywhere. The Chicago star even used an innovative technique that helped sell out her signature shoe, so it’s no surprise that more and more companies want to collaborate with her.

Reese is rumored to walk the ramp in some capacity for one of her recent endorsements, Juicy Couture. Just a few days before her appearance on the Victoria’s Secret ramp, Juicy Couture announced that they had signed Angel Reese as their latest brand ambassador. They also launched an Angel Reese exclusive clothing line, Angel Couture. And after the incredibly successful outing with Victoria’s Secret, we could see Angel Reese on the ramp pretty soon.

But she isn’t the only WNBA player we could see walking the ramp. Inspired by Angel Reese’s accomplishment, one of her biggest rivals’ teammates has also started considering walking the ramp, should an opportunity arise.

After Angel Reese set the world on fire with her ramp walk for Victoria’s Secret, Sophie Cunningham has revealed how the moment inspired her to try and achieve one of her childhood dreams. In a recent episode of her Show Me Something podcast, Sophie said, “Angel walked in it and she killed it, absolutely killed it. I texted my agent right away. This has been a dream of mine since second grade. I’ve always wanted to be a Victoria’s Secret Angel.”

This isn’t the first time Sophie Cunningham has shown her admiration for Angel Reese. In a recent Instagram story, she revealed that with her new diet due to dietary restrictions, she is going to be the fittest version of herself, just like Angel Reese. After Angel Reese broke the barrier and became the first active athlete to walk the ramp, there are certainly going to be other players as well who’ll get these opportunities.
And with her massive social media reach (1.3 million followers on Instagram), Sophie Cunningham’s name would certainly be the one to look out for. She has openly thrown her hat in the ring, and we’re sure that there are going to be plenty of companies or designers that’ll love to seize the opportunity.
