Angel Reese: The Actress. That has a nice ring to it, right? Well, others thought so too. As a result, the WNBA star recently revealed that she got a cameo role in Idris Elba and Rebecca Ferguson’s recent apocalyptic political thriller film ‘A House of Dynamite’. This adds the WNBA star to the list of renowned basketball players who have appeared either as themselves or in a different role in Hollywood films. No matter how small the role was, it has given Reese something to think about.

Angel Reese recently hosted the renowned rapper ‘Common’ on her ‘Unapologetically Angel’ show. The rapper was especially happy when the player told him about her cameo role. Reese discussed her experience by highlighting that “It was long, and I didn’t like it because it was too long. The days were long, and it was only one scene, and the day it took the whole day. And I didn’t enjoy that.”

In spite of that experience, she admitted that “I think I can do acting”. However, she has a lot to learn, since Reese is not even aware of the basics that actors have to cover.

“I don’t want to read off a script. Like, I just want to be able to be myself. Just tell me what the…. I guess the message you’re trying to get, and then I’ll just go off of what I want to be, you know?” said Reese. Common, after being perplexed for a second, taught the basketball player that “if you going to act, you got to be able to do get the scripts. Like, you got to be able to take some, don’t get me wrong”.

Well, Reese is already taking steps to ensure she is better adjusted if she ever chooses to pursue acting properly. During the New York Film Festival premiere of the film back on September 28th, the Chicago Sky player talked to ‘People’ Magazine. During the same time, she admitted, “I want to get an acting coach. I was talking to Common — he’s overseas right now shooting season 2 of Silo — and he was telling me, ‘You got to hire an acting coach.’ So I’m going to hire an acting coach. I model already, so it’s like adding to the résumé. I’m young right now, so I’m going to do it while I’m young.”

Well, though the experience may have been long and tedious, it is not every day that you can say that you shared the screen in the same film as Idris Elba. The duo may be from different parts of the world in terms of their profession, but they did rub off on each other.

During the interview with ‘People’ magazine at the New York Film Festival, Angel Reese recalled seeking some advice from the ‘Luther’ actor. As she recalled, “He just said, ‘Stay confident. Be yourself. Have fun’”. Reese reciprocated that gesture through basketball. She further revealed that “We were shooting baskets … and I was teaching him a few things too, so it was really fun.”

As Angel Reese recalled, she was “really nervous,” on the first day of filming. Fortunately, she felt better in the presence of some unnamed cast members. However, Reese did say that “The girls there made me feel comfortable”, which means that Rebecca Ferguson, Greta Lee, and Kaitlyn Dever had to be amongst them.
