Angel Reese now has a ™ next to it. Yes, the Chicago Sky star filed a patent through Angel Reese LLC, her company in Maryland, which runs all her business and branding ventures. The USPTO also confirmed it last week. Despite being in the offseason of the WNBA, Reese is always in the headlines, but she hasn’t been since the trademark announcement. After a curious question from a fan, though, Bayou Barbie announced a clear message to her ‘fans’.  

It all started with a simple tweet, “Can’t wait to see all my girls todayyy🤍🤭.” It seemed cryptic at first. However, moments later, Jeanine Ogbonnaya, Reese’s agent, replied, “Can’t wait to see you too girly 😂😘” So it seems Reese had a personal meeting planned with her close ones. Then, a fan wrote, “Angel, you’ve been mia 😶”

“That was the goal for this offseason🙃” the Sky ace posted, before spelling out her offseason plan in a 9-word message, “Quietly minding my business so everybody won’t mind MINE.” Unfortunately, Angel Reese can’t keep her name out of basketball circles, even if she wants to.

“Has any player been associated with as many fake quotes as Angel Reese? 🥴” asked a popular basketball X account a few days ago, while posting a collage of the multiple fake quotes Reese has been associated with. To which Reese replied, “Rent really be DUE. Can’t believe everything you read.” 

So yes, the WNBA star needs some space, given all the negative trolling she and her peers face during the season. Some controversially believe that is the price you pay for being among the most popular athletes on the scene. While, on the other hand, others think it should be curtailed to keep them in the best mental shape. Blocking out all the outside noise, basically. But while Reese has recently been keeping to herself, it doesn’t mean she isn’t making any big moves. 

Reese became the first athlete to become a Victoria’s Secret angel. She sent waves across the scene with her walk. “Do you think 20 years back, do you think anybody in the WNBA would have said, ‘Yes, in 20 years somebody will be walking the Victoria’s Secret runway’? Absolutely not,” DiJonai Carrington said. 

Apart from that appearance, the Sky ace had her signature shoes, the Angel Reese 1s, released in new colorways, which sold out in a day or two. She has also revealed plans to do a possible world tour to promote those kicks. “So, I’m excited to go overseas and kind of show that off,” the WNBA star had said.

So, while Angel Reese is not actively hunting controversy by speaking out too much, she has been pretty active this offseason. Now, a Hollywood actor has called upon the Sky star and her chief rival, Caitlin Clark, to appear in his next film.

Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese to star in a movie!?

To say Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are rivals would be an understatement of the impact they have had on the WNBA. Their storylines stem from friction in college that carried on to the WNBA, where they are the biggest stars of today. 2025 saw this rivalry cool slightly, as both teams suffered from injuries, but their opening game still turned out to be the biggest draw of the year. However, it seems “Juwanna Mann” star Miguel A. Nunez Jr. is interested in getting the two biggest rivals to collaborate on his next movie. 

Nunez revealed in a recent interview that a sequel to the 2002 basketball comedy is in the works. “Yeah, we’re doing a part two,” Nunez said. When asked about the stars that could make an appearance in the movie, he hopes to see both WNBA stars in cameo roles.

“I hope Angel Reese… Caitlin Clark [too!]. I love her. I love Angel Reese.” Nunez said, per TMZ. He also mentioned Seth Curry, who was in the initial movie. 

The 2002 film “Juwanna Mann” is a story of a disgraced NBA player who disguises himself as a woman to continue playing basketball. The sequel would have to be modernized, but it could incorporate the growth the women’s game has had. And who else to better represent that than Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese?

Angel Reese actually made her movie debut pretty recently. She is featured in the new Kathryn Bigelow movie, A House of Dynamite, with Idris Elba. Reese appears as herself in a scene where the President, played by Idris Elba, visits a WNBA-related event at the “Jump Shot Girls Basketball Camp.” However, an emergency occurs, and Elba has to leave in a hurry as the WNBA star guides the kids in the background. It was not a significant role but a cameo nonetheless. 

But Nunez mentioned that they are still in the process of confirming the script. “It’s not even close. Probably won’t be till the middle of next year,” he said regarding starting the shooting and operations on the ground. It will be interesting if Reese and Clark actually agree to this project, if it happens at all. The Fever’s centerpiece has multiple advertisements where she has appeared on screen, but a movie would be a brand-new experience!
