The 2025 WNBA All-Star Games are just around the corner. And the games already carry a storm of expectations, comparisons, and controversy with them. While fans and analysts can’t help but reminisce about last year’s record-shattering spectacle at the Phoenix arena, this season’s edition is shaping up to be just as explosive, but for very different reasons. At the center of the chaos stands none other than Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese.

Angel Reese has been the most excited ever since the news of this season’s games broke out. From launching her All-Star posters online to urging people to vote, the Sky athlete wished to be a part of this year’s event. After all, the sophomore athlete had a remarkable All-Star debut last season where she averaged 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Not just that, Reese became the first rookie in the league’s All-Star history to record a double-double. So, when this year’s games came along, the athlete jumped on the bandwagon, pushing people to help her participate in this season too. Reese took to X (formerly Twitter) to make an announcement. Tagging her website on the social media application, she shared a 14-second clip with a caption that read, “YOU KNOW I HAD TO DOUBLE IT! LIMITED EDITION ALL STAR SHIRTS! SHOP NOW!

The short video begins with the words, “Mebounds, Shebounds, 2x All-Star Bound.” For those who are unaware, MeBound is a fashion line that was launched by Angel Reese. As the reigning rebounding queen, the athlete recently shared a glimpse of her latest All-Star edition. The brand new collection consists of two limited edition shirts. The video featured an ash-grey, round-neck shirt with half-sleeves, and a relatively shorter, rose-pink shirt. The two tees were printed with the words “Mebounds, Shebounds, 2x All-Star Bound” written across.

This news comes a few hours before the WNBA broke the news surrounding Angel Reese’s inclusion in the 20205 All-Star games. Slated to commence on July 18 and July 19, 2025, the weekend in the Gainbridge Fieldhouse at Indianapolis, the games will feature all fan favorite athletes under the same roof. With Angel Reese too being one of them, it will be exciting to watch how the games play out.

Angel Reese to participate in the WNBA All-Star event

While Angel Reese had been advocating for the All-Star votes ever since the league’s official announcement, the results of the fan votes were underwhelming. As a result, the Chicago Sky player found herself in seventh place in fan votes. Moreover, the forward athlete’s votes from fellow league players and media personnel were worrisome. She sat in 12th place, thanks to combined media and player votes. But there was still a sliver of hope for the athlete.
