What was Brianna Fraser’s contract with the Seattle Storm?

Brianna Fraser signed a one-year training camp contract with the Seattle Storma short-term, nonstandard deal designed to give players an opportunity to prove they belong on the roster without creating a long-term commitment for the franchise. While she was ultimately waived, all is not lost; this stint can serve as a valuable springboard, potentially helping her secure better-paying opportunities in overseas leagues, where her WNBA experience could carry significant weight. She can leverage her experience with one of the best teams in the WNBA to get a better sum overseas.

 What was Brianna Fraser’s salary?

If Alleyne had made the roster, she would have earned $66,079 without any signing bonus for the 2025 season under her single-year contract. However, since she was waived by the franchise, she will instead receive only the daily allowance specified in her contract. The exact amount of this allowance varies by player and team, and the specific terms are not publicly disclosed.

Why were Brianna Fraser’s contracts waived?

Fraser player 12 minutes in Storm’s only preseason game, scoring 5 points and 2 rebounds but the forward position is stacked at Storm. Nneka Ogwumike, Gabby Williams, Alysha Clark and Katie Lou Samuelson form a formidable group at the forward position. Ogumike and Williams will likely start with Clark and Samuelson being in the rotation.

Besides, Fraser has never played in the WNBA, despite having signed training camp contracts twice before– Sun and the New York Liberty. This puts her at a loss against these veterans. The teams need to have a maximum of 12 players on the roster by May 15, according to the league’s regulations. So they have to cut at least 5-6 players every year, with some teams keeping only 11 due to cap space constraints.
