For Caitlin Clark, signing with Nike was “never a long shot”. The Iowa alum is the perfect example of what the footwear and apparel company embodies–grit, grind, and determination. Not to mention, CC is a trailblazer if there ever was one! Just take a look at the laurels she has: the NCAA scoring record, Indiana’s seven-year playoff drought, and so much more. She has won over the hearts of the public and makes fans out of everyone who watches her.

Even Travis Scott, a hip-hop star we frequently see at the top of the Billboard charts, is no exception! Actually, he was one of Caitlin’s first fans. Chris Brickley, one of the premier NBA trainers known for hosting pro-runs, received a text from Scott in 2021 in which the rapper sang Caitlin Clark’s praises.”Man, Caitlin Clark has had a great college career but NOBODY was on her b4 my brodie @trvisXX [checkered flag emoji]. This was a text from March 24th, 2021 [two red exclamation emojis].” The text from Scott said, “Caitlin Clark [six brain exploding emojis].”

But it didn’t stop there for the Astroworld rapper, as he made sure to be there for CC and Iowa’s biggest moments. You could see him sitting courtside, cheering her on as she broke the scoring record, and he even celebrated with the team afterwards.

Nike, as always, has picked up on their connection and bond, and recently made a post that had Caitlin Clark clicking on share! It was an image of Travis at the Fanatics Fest, signing autographs and trinkets with CC’s Indiana jersey on his shoulder. Number twenty-two wasted no time in reposting this to her story, showing a lovely bit of camaraderie and respect between the two.

It was a brilliant post from Nike, as it married two worlds very close to each other. Caitlin Clark is on the verge of getting her own signature line of shoes, while Travis Scott? He’s had plenty in his name. More than anything else, it shows the rising influence of women’s basketball and the impact that CC has on popular culture as well.

We know there’s some time until Caitlin Clark gets her own shoe, but Nike is paying close attention to the demands of the public. So, they have something really special coming out this holiday season! Let’s find out what the company has in store for Indiana Fever fans!

Nike’s holiday plans for Caitlin Clark

Every Indiana Fever fan has one question on their mind–when will Caitlin Clark get her own shoe? At this point in her career, with the brilliance that she has displayed so far, it is a matter of when, not if. There were rumors that she’d get one in her rookie year, reminiscent of Michael Jordan in ’84, but Nike bottled that idea, instead choosing to focus on reigning MVP A’ja Wilson.
