It’s not every day that Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese find themselves on the same side of a conversation. But when it comes to Raven Johnson, the two apparently agree. And they made that known in the most viral way possible.

Raven Johnson posted a series of pictures from the Indiana Fever media day, and the comments section quickly became a who’s who of women’s basketball. Among those who couldn’t help but weigh in were Clark and Reese themselves. Clark kept it short and emphatic, dropping a simple “Tuffff” that said everything without needing to say much. Reese, characteristically warmer in her delivery, greeted Johnson with “hi booskie boo 😍,” a term of endearment that has become something of a signature between the two.

Clark’s comment in particular will not be lost on those who have followed the history between her and Johnson. The two were fierce college rivals, and their dynamic carries the weight of one of the more memorable moments in recent women’s basketball. Clark’s infamous 2023 “wave-off,” which Johnson has since revealed left a genuine mark on her. In fact, Johnson admitted the incident was so affecting that it made her want to quit basketball entirely at the time. That context makes Clark cheerfully hyping up her new teammate on social media all the more striking.

As it turns out though, the transition from rivals to teammates has gone remarkably smoothly. Training camp footage has offered glimpses of the two vibing to Rihanna together and exchanging playful banter during drills, effectively dismantling the rivalry narrative in real time. Johnson herself has praised Clark for being a “huge help” as she settles into life in the WNBA, a sentiment that paints a very different picture from the college days that once defined their relationship.

Johnson’s connection with Reese, meanwhile, has a different but equally warm texture to it. The two were also on opposing sides in college. Although their dynamic was always more of a friendly competitive one than anything intense or personal. They have also long referred to each other as “booskie” on social media. In fact most recently she celebrated Johnson’s 2026 WNBA preseason debut with the Indiana Fever with characteristic enthusiasm.

And the love didn’t stop with Clark and Reese. Fellow Fever teammates Aliyah Boston and Monique Billings also made their way into the comments, adding to what has become a recurring theme around this Indiana Fever group, a locker room that genuinely seems to like each other. That chemistry appears to be carrying over onto the court too, with the Fever defeating the New York Liberty 109-91 in their first preseason game. Next up is a clash against the Dallas Wings, before the regular season officially tips off on May 9.

If the kind of energy seen so far is anything to go by, this Fever squad is heading into the season with exactly the kind of togetherness that championship runs are built on. And Raven Johnson, caught in the middle of it all with Clark in her corner, seems to be in a pretty good place.

How Caitlin Clark and Raven Johnson are Clicking as Teammates

Given their history as rivals, the expectation when Raven Johnson and Caitlin Clark became teammates was that there might be some residual tension to navigate, particularly in the shadow of the infamous 2023 NCAA Tournament wave-off.

But as it turns out, none of that baggage appears to have made the trip to Indianapolis. According to Johnson, the two haven’t even brought it up. “I think that’s in the past, honestly. We’re teammates now and we have one goal, that’s to win a championship,” she said.

And the transition has been anything but awkward. Johnson has described her acclimation to the Fever as genuinely exciting, singling out Clark as a particularly valuable presence during the adjustment. “It’s actually very exciting… Caitlin Clark, she was helping me through all the hard times… I was like, what do I do here or like where should I cut… I asked her probably like a thousand questions yesterday,” Johnson said. Far from being the rival who once waved her off, Clark has become one of her most reliable resources.

Clark, for her part, has been equally intentional about stepping into that supportive role. “Just helping as much as I can, especially Raven, who’s gonna be a primary ball handler and trying to conduct the offense, that’s a big responsibility. And just empowering her to use her voice… proud of her for sure,” Clark said. It’s the kind of investment in a teammate that goes beyond just being polite. Clark clearly understands what Johnson is being asked to do and has made it her business to help her do it well.

Off the court, the warmth between them is just as visible. Training camp footage has captured the two chatting, joking, vibing to Rihanna, and even sharing hugs. Whatever tension fans may have anticipated between these two has been thoroughly replaced by something that looks a lot more like genuine friendship. And if that connection continues to translate onto the court, it could end up being one of the important dynamics of the Indiana Fever’s 2026 season.
