The Indiana Fever star, Caitlin Clark, comes across as a supportive player who is quick to celebrate the personal victories of her teammates, on and off the court. There have been several instances in the past where Clark has uplifted her colleagues in the locker rooms or on the hardwood. But it is different this time.

Clark, who usually keeps her private affairs off social media, took to Instagram and wished her close friend and fellow Indiana teammate. She reposted Lexi Hull‘s post as a story with several heart and crying emojis.

The story includes a picture of a blushing Lexie Hull while her long-time boyfriend, Will Matthiessen, is on one knee, proposing with a solitaire. The breathtaking photograph features the new couple, perched on a sandy platform between a bed of white roses and against the vast sea on the South Beach of Indianapolis.

This beautiful engagement photograph was shared by Hull and Matthiessen with a caption that read, “Engaged to my best friend. Cheers to forever.

When coupled with the melody of Myles Smith’s song, Sweet Love, Lexie’s sky blue dress and wavy tresses add to the charm of the image as a beautiful rendition of two long time sweethearts who are ready to take the plunge as they write the next chapter of their life together.

An overwhelmed Clark was one of the earliest followers to react to the post. Before adding the story, the 2024 overall number 1 pick was quick to comment, “YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYYY SO HAPPY,” on the original post.

“Clark is the Face of the NBA” Statement Comes True

Caitlin Clark single-handedly stole the show during the recent NBA playoffs. The Fever star went to support men’s team, Indiana Pacers who, despite an outstanding 117-98 win against Milwaukee Bucks in game one, failed to garner more attention than Clark.

The official NBA account posted a video where the Fever Rookie of the Year is seen waving to her fans and acknowledging the kids wearing her #22 jersey by posing with them. The clip garnered nearly 1 million views on X (formerly Twitter), thereby affirming the viral statement by former NBA player and host Rashad McCants that, “Clark is the face of the NBA” in her favour.

The popular guard even surpassed LeBron James in terms of viewer engagement. James’ warmup video ahead of  Los Angeles Laker‘s match against the Minnesota Timberwolves managed to earn only half the engagement when compared to Clark’s recent cameo.

Addressing her growing popularity, Clark had remarked, “It’s all happened so fast. I don’t feel famous. I don’t feel like a celebrity. That’s not the way I approach my life. I still go and buy candles at the store, the fall spice candles.” With an average of 28.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per 139 games so far, this humble WNBA player is indeed a powerhouse of women’s basketball.
