Caitlin Clark may have just signaled that her first signature shoe is finally on the way. After more than two years of anticipation, a subtle but telling update to the Indiana Fever star’s Instagram profile has fans convinced that Nike’s rollout of the highly anticipated Nike Caitlin 1 is officially underway.

As pointed out in an X post by KicksFinder, Clark recently changed her Instagram username to “Caitlin 1” and updated her profile picture with what appears to be a close-up teaser of the sneaker. The move has fueled speculation that Nike is beginning the official marketing campaign for Clark’s long-awaited debut signature sneaker.

October 1 is being reported as the date these shoes will officially be released, although there are some sources claiming that the Nike Caitlin 1 will actually launch on September 29th instead.

The launch of this signature shoe will mark Clark’s official move away from the Kobe line. Throughout her rookie year and subsequent seasons that followed, Clark exclusively wore custom colorways from Kobe Bryant’s signature collection. This includes the “Rookie of the Year” and “Eras Tour” versions of the Nike Kobe 5 and Nike Kobe 6. But while those sneakers were custom-made for her, they were never part of her own signature line. For someone of her stature, that was an inevitability.

During the Indiana Fever‘s recent game against the Chicago Sky (which they won 114-106), Caitlin Clark debuted her final Player Exclusive Kobe sneaker, a Taylor Swift Eras Tour-inspired Nike Kobe 6 Protro.

Speaking during the postgame press conference after the contest, Clark revealed that it would be her last Player Exclusive release, saying, “I saved the best ones for last.” She followed it up with a performance to remember, scoring 32 and assisting 10.

With the rollout now seemingly underway, anticipation among fans continues to grow. In the coming days, fans will likely learn more about the Nike Caitlin 1, including its official design details and release plans.

Clark has a great track record when it comes to merchandise and product sales. And that was true right from the get-go. When she was drafted by the Fever in 2024, her jersey sold out within an hour. She also has the second-largest jersey sales in the U.S., behind only Stephen Curry. And some aren’t afraid of dishing out the big bucks for her collectibles either, with a fan buying one of her rookie trading cards for $666,000.

So, there is every reason to believe her debut signature sneaker will generate significant demand.

What Does The Nike Caitlin 1 Look Like?

There are still no full official studio photos or technical descriptions of Caitlin Clark’s debut signature sneaker. The closest thing to an official image currently available comes directly from Clark’s Instagram profile picture. Even that, however, appears insufficient to reveal much about the shoe’s overall design.

The sneaker appears to feature an icy-blue material with a highly textured grid of raised, repeating “C” shapes. The image seems to be an ultra-zoomed-in macro shot of a single component of the shoe. So th

at makes it difficult to determine exactly where the material is located in the overall design.

However, while Nike has yet to unveil the shoe’s geometry or officially reveal its design and technical specifications, the company has already introduced Caitlin Clark’s interlocking, multi-layered “C” logo. As a function of her Nike deal, the logo is already featured across pieces from her official Nike apparel collection. It will most likely play a prominent role on the Nike Caitlin 1 as well.

As it stands, speculation about the sneaker’s appearance continues to grow. There are already various unofficial renderings and fan-made concepts circulating online.

However, as is customary for Nike, which often keeps its major signature shoe debuts strictly under wraps until a coordinated media reveal, fans cannot be completely certain what the Nike Caitlin 1 looks like until the company officially unveils the sneaker.
