Jimmy Fallon was already excited to have Caitlin Clark on his show, but he never expected CC would get him a gift. While discussing how the Indiana Fever guard became one of the few athletes to get her own signature Nike shoes, Fallon gave fans a sneak peek of the upcoming Nike Caitlin 1 colorway. When Fallon said only Clark had worn the colorway, the WNBA All-Star did the unexpected.

“Yes, but I do have something for you. I brought you a little gift,” said Clark as she pulled out a fresh pair of the Taylor Swift-inspired colorway customized for Fallon, months ahead of its late February 2027 release.
“Are you serious? Dude, I’m freaking out right now… My God! Can you see this? It says ‘2NITE SHOW.’ I love these!” the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon host said.
The custom part of the shoe was the lace dubrae, which had a charm spelling out 2NITE SHOW.
“Yeah, so they come with charms, and then everybody will be able to make it their own, which I think is fun,” clarified the Indiana Fever star.
Fallon could barely contain his excitement as he put the shoes on right there and asked, “Are these inspired by your buddy Taylor Swift?”
“Obviously, I’m a big Taylor fan. She’s the best,” Clark answered.
Caitlin Clark grew up as and remains a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan. Despite being in the WNBA, she still finds time to watch the Chiefs play, especially during the off-season, and that’s how he and the multiple-time Grammy winner became friends.
Swift gradually became a regular at Chiefs games when she and her husband, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, started dating in the summer of 2023. In fact, Clark and Swift were spotted together in the VIP suite at Arrowhead Stadium as recently as October 18, 2026, when Kansas City beat the Los Angeles Chargers 22-6. Coincidentally, Kelce also happens to be Clark’s favorite player.
“I was a Tony Gonzalez fan when I was growing up. But no, Travis is definitely my favorite Chiefs player of all time, and Patrick is right behind him,” Clark said while appearing on Travis’s sister-in-law Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce podcast.
However, her personal connection with Taylor Swift wasn’t the only inspiration behind the Friendship Bracelet Caitlin 1s. The Fever guard is aware of how Swifties brought custom-made friendship bracelets to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. She noticed how that tradition trickled down to Fever games as well.
“I think a lot of my games, people always bring friendship bracelets; they want to trade. So I was like, ‘Let’s put it on a shoe.’ People can make it their own,” Clark told Fallon.
Caitlin Clark wearing different colorways of her signature Nike sneakers during WNBA games is nothing new. She debuted several colorways, including Racer Blue, Yellow Zest, Chiefs (of course there’s a Chiefs colorway!) and more, months ahead of the sneaker officially releasing globally on October 1, 2026.
The 2026 AP WNBA Comeback Player of the Year winner has also gifted the Caitlin 1s to a select few. In September, she surprised her Fever teammates after returning from the 2026 FIBA World Cup as a gold medalist with Team USA.
“My CC win a gold medal, she come back & give the whole team a pair of shoes!” her Fever teammate Makalya Timpson said.
Then on Monday, November 2, just ahead of the Iowa Hawkeyes 2026 NCAAW season opener, she sent every player on her former college team a pair. The former Iowa Hawkeyes star sent the team a special black-and-gold Hawkeyes colorway featuring the Tigerhawk logo on the shoe’s tongue.
Yet, Jimmy Fallon became the first person who has nothing to do with basketball to get his hands on a colorway that will hit store shelves next year.
Clark didn’t disclose the exact release date of the shoes or the price of the upcoming colorways. However, unless the customizable charm feature of this colorway demands a premium, it shouldn’t cost more than $140 USD. However, one thing to keep in mind is that the special editions of the Caitlin 1s, including this year’s Halloween ‘glow-in-the-dark’ edition, cost $150.
