Basketball’s biggest sneaker free agent, Stephen Curry, continues to show up in something new almost every night. Since ending his 13-year partnership with Under Armour, Curry has been rotating through sneakers tied to WNBA stars as well. From rocking pairs tied to A’ja Wilson to Sabrina Ionescu, he’s worn them all,  and now Caitlin Clark joins the list.

Yes, we know Caitlin Clark doesn’t have a signature shoe yet. But Curry was spotted wearing a Nike Kobe 6 PE in her “Light Armory Blue” colorway against the Atlanta Hawks. Clark even let everyone know by posting it on her Instagram story.

Hurry up and watch it before it’s gone!

The exclusive pair was officially released on November 12 with a $200 price tag, but Curry wearing the pair wasn’t the first time fans got a look at them. Nike originally debuted the sneakers during the Fever’s nationally televised matchup with Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky. Clark hasn’t had many chances to wear them because injuries held her to just 13 games this season, yet the shoes still sold out within minutes.

According to Pat Benson of Sports Illustrated, the Nike Kobe 6 Protro — the updated version of Kobe Bryant’s sixth signature sneaker — is the most-worn shoe in the NBA. It remains a huge favorite among players, with stars like Devin Booker and PJ Tucker seen wearing it in the past. Even in the WNBA, Arike Ogunbowale has been seen wearing them alongside Caitlin Clark.

Curry was also spotted wearing Deion Sanders’ Nike Diamond Turf before the game against the Hawks, which the Warriors ultimately lost. It was an ode to Sanders, who played for both the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL and the Atlanta Braves in the MLB.

As a sneaker free agent, Curry has been using his kicks to pay tribute to legends and iconic NBA moments. After leaving Under Armour, he showed up for a game vs. the Jazz in the “Flu Game” 12s, then warmed up in the “Last Shot” 14s — the same shoes MJ wore against Utah.

It’s interesting to see Curry wearing Caitlin Clark’s PE because Bloomberg reported during the Curry–Under Armour split that one sticking point was the company’s attempt to recruit Caitlin Clark to his brand. According to people familiar with the matter, Curry and Under Armour pursued the phenom, but UA’s offer didn’t match Nike’s total value, and Clark opted to sign with Nike.

If Curry stays a sneaker-free agent, don’t be surprised if one day he’s lacing up Caitlin Clark’s signature shoes…because they are coming!

The current update on Caitlin Clark’s signature shoe release

Since Clark inked her groundbreaking eight-year, $28 million footwear and apparel deal with Nike in 2024, fans have been eagerly anticipating the rollout of her full signature line. In 2025, Nike released multiple Kobe models in Clark’s player-exclusive colorways, unveiled her logo, launched the Christmas ad “From Anywhere,” and rolled out her signature apparel. However, her signature shoe is still missing.

But the wait for that moment is nearing its end.

Clark will become only the third active WNBA player with her own signature shoe, joining A’ja Wilson and Sabrina Ionescu. It’s another sign of how quickly her influence is growing. And who knows, maybe one day Curry will walk into a Warriors game wearing the CC signature shoe. We’ll just have to wait and see.
