Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) returned to Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City for a WNBA preseason game against the Brazil national team on May 4, 2025.
After putting an end to their two-game losing streak with a solid win over the Atlanta Dream, the Indiana Fever’s official X account jumped right into celebration mode. “That’s how you bounce back…walk off with the squad after our big dub against the Dream,” they wrote. The video showed a cheerful Sophie Cunningham and Aari McDonald soaking in the moment, but a few other familiar faces were missing from the clip. Either the clip didn’t catch everyone, or some had other places to be. As for Clark, while we can’t say for sure, we’ve got a pretty good hunch about what she might have been up to.
Powered by Kelsey Mitchell’s 25-point outing and a strong 16-point, 10-rebound double-double from Sophie Cunningham, the Indiana Fever cruised to a well-deserved 99-82 win over the Atlanta Dream. The win took their record to 10-10 – not what they envisioned at the start of the season, but they will take it. They’ll be hoping this performance serves as the launchpad for future success. And once again, the Fever proved that they didn’t need a scoring explosion from Caitlin Clark to get the job done.
Since returning from her groin injury, Caitlin Clark has played two games and hasn’t quite looked like her old self. She went just 1-of-7 from beyond the arc in her latest game and just 2-of-5 against the Valkyries. Things definitely need to change on that front. But with a player like Caitlin Clark, the spotlight never fades. No matter what she does, she is always the main woman in the show. Something similar happened when Caitlin was seen cleaning the court. Yes, you heard that right! Yes, she was doing the job of a court attendant, and as you’d imagine, social media exploded with reactions.

Fans react to Caitlin Clark cleaning the court
Fans were caught off guard seeing Caitlin Clark cleaning the court, but the surprise quickly turned into admiration. It was a humble gesture from a superstar, and they loved it. “Caitlin will do it herself thank you very much,” one fan commented, while another added, “She’s the best 🤍.”
These are the kind of moments that turn stars into fan favorites. In the viral clip, you can clearly see a court attendant already holding a mop, ready to go. But Caitlin Clark still brought over a towel herself to wipe down a specific spot she must’ve thought was extra slippery. She then handed the towel to the ref, who joined the attendant in cleaning it up. GIFs of Cinderella mopping the floor quickly flooded social media, with one fan even commenting, “My Cinderella ❤️” in response to Clark’s humble gesture!
One fan joked, “People said that Gainbridge assists commercial was fake,” after seeing the viral video. For those who don’t know, Gainbridge recently teamed up with Caitlin Clark for their Ultimate Assist campaign. The ad showed Caitlin doing everything – from handing out popcorn to wiping floors, you name it! At first glance, the ad offers a clever comparison. Clark’s pinpoint assists on the hardwood mirror the kind of financial guidance Gainbridge aims to offer investors. But there’s more to the campaign than meets the eye. It reflects the combined efforts of three key Indianapolis powerhouses working to spotlight women’s sports, all in a year when the city is set to take center stage as host of the WNBA All-Star Weekend on July 18–19.
So, safe to say, the real-life moment made the commercial feel even more genuine. And one fan even recalled an incident from past, writing, “I was at the Vegas game when she got towels to give to one of the workers when a drink spilled onto the court. Nothing is beneath her, that’s a true leader”. Well, she is, and all the fame has not stopped her from carrying out all her chores herself. As she told ESPN’s Laura Rutledge, “I still go to the grocery store, I still buy my own groceries, I still do all of that. And I don’t think people always realize that.” And if you say that’s bare minimum, then wait.
After the former Iowa athlete completed her college career, she only had a few weeks of break before the Fever started training after picking her. And then her first WNBA season began, where she played a grueling stretch of 11 games in just twenty days. So, she could have used some rest, right? But did she? Not really, as she took to volunteering for little kids. FOX59 shared an X post with some photos, writing, “Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark joined Group 1001 and Habitat for Humanity today, playing basketball with children as volunteers built what will soon be a new home in Boone County!” Yes – BUILD!

So, while this heartwarming moment stole the spotlight, there’s still one aspect of Clark’s game that’s raising eyebrows. Her shooting. “Her shooting has been concerning the last few games,” one fan pointed out, and honestly, it’s a fair concern. In her last 5 games, Clark has gone 4-37 from beyond the arc. That’s not what you expect from a player like Clark. But that’s not all. According to Statmuse, she is currently shooting just 3.6% of her threes in road games. To put it in one simple word? Horrible!

But before you overanalyze, remember that a lot of Clark’s recent struggles can be traced back to the injury setbacks she’s dealt with this season. “I mean, I feel like the thing when I’m missing shots, a lot of the time it’s my feet. Like, I’ll become very narrow, or my feet won’t be set in the way that I need them to be,” she shared during the pre-game press conference ahead of the Dream matchup. Missing 10 games due to two separate injuries is far from ideal. We just hope she will be all healthy soon.
