For Caitlin Clark, a childhood dream is about to be realized in Puerto Rico, but her focus isn’t just on the basketball court. The Indiana Fever star is set to make her Team USA debut, which she “wrote down when she was in the third grade.” It is a dream come true for Clark. The moment has even more significance since she is returning to competitive basketball after 8 months of grueling rehab. The event has all the makings of a comeback story. Amid this drama, Clark was surprisingly hoping to get some entertainment from none other than Bad Bunny at the World Cup qualifiers.

Bad Bunny or Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, has been one of the most popular artists across the world for a few years. But his fame further shot up after performing the most hyped Super Bowl halftime show. With 4.157 billion views, Roc Nation announced that Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show is now the most watched in history. Playing at his birthplace, you can’t fault Clark for hoping to catch one of his shows.

“Yes, I’m super excited. It’s my first time in Puerto Rico,” Clark said, per an article from Nuevo Dia. “It’s truly beautiful. I wish Bad Bunny was at the game; I wish he were performing. I checked to see if he was going to be singing while we’re here, but he’s not. Maybe they should bring him. Help us with that.”

Well, we knew Clark loved country music, with Luke Combs being her “favorite artist of all time.” She also loves Taylor Swift, with their friendship being widely popular among both fan bases. Clark has attended Swift concerts, with “Enchanted” being a favorite piece of hers. Well, now we know that her music taste has some range, with Bad Bunny, a Puerto Rican hip-hop artist, being a part of her playlist.

Unfortunately for Clark, the singer is out on a world tour. His “Debí tirar más fotos” Japan leg recently wrapped up. He was also in the stands to watch the World Baseball Classic game between Japan and Chinese Taipei. His tour will continue in Europe with the next concert in Barcelona.

The schedule has him touring till late July. Maybe they could sneak his performance at September’s World Cup in Berlin, but it’s very unlikely, as World Cups don’t have halftime shows like the NBA or the WNBA. Yet beyond the music and the moment in Puerto Rico, Clark has also been reflecting on what her long-term future around the game might look like.

Caitlin Clark Reveals Her Intentions After Retirement

Caitlin Clark is one of the basketball freaks who is wildly passionate about the game. So much so that she once rammed her brother during a friendly pickup game at home. Colin Clark once recalled, “There was a loose ball and she ended up shoving me in the corner of the basement into the wall… Got four staples.” Even today, she is as pumped as anyone every time she makes a shot. Her passion and love for the game is partly the reason she kept trying to return from injury last season. And yet, Clark expressed the desire to step away from the game after retirement.

While discussing Sue Bird’s role as a Managing Director and the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026 Global Ambassador, Clark was asked whether she would take up that mentoring role someday. “I mean, maybe, I guess. I’m only 24, so we’ll see. I mean, I don’t know. Maybe I’ll retire and be away from basketball for a while, but we’ll see,” She said (via FIBA). “You never know. A lot of people say that and they stay in the game anyway.”

In the past, Clark has professed some interest in coaching college basketball when all is said and done. “Honestly, I might go back at one point in my life and coach college basketball,” Clark said on Sue Bird’s podcast. “Just because, looking back—obviously at the time that was all I knew.

And then you get into the pros and it’s just like, ‘Why didn’t people guard me like this?'” She even hinted at becoming a WNBA referee but that was more improbable than being a coach. She can even step into media, as her NBC debut for the NBA was a great success in February. Well, we don’t have to think about her retirement right now, as she has a long career ahead of her.
