Despite coming back from injuries, Caitlin Clark has not missed a beat. After 4 games of action, she leads the team in points, assists and efficiency. She has found chemistry with her fairly new teammates while returning to her old three-point shooting form. Remember, she was 27% from the 3-point line during the 13 WNBA games in 2025. But what about her fitness? Clark shared an update on how she feels after the New Zealand win.

Against New Zealand, Clark posted 14 points and six assists while playing 23 minutes in her first Team USA start. She made 6 of 11 shots from the field, including 2 of 7 from beyond the arc, along with one rebound and had two steals. After playing 83 minutes in 4 days, Clark is not feeling any tremors of her past.

“Feel good,” She said. “Obviously, five games in seven days is a true test to see where my body’s at, but so far, I feel really good.”

Let’s not forget that it wasn’t just one injury for the point guard. First it was left quad tightness, then came the left groin injury, which was followed by the right groin injury and the bone bruise, which ultimately ended her 2025 WNBA season. She hadn’t played a competitive game since July 15. Yet, after games in quick succession, Clark’s fitness hasn’t faltered, which is a very good sign.

Nevertheless, she hasn’t completely played like her old self in these four games. Clark is generally a ball-heavy point guard. But because of the abundance of guards in this team that includes Paige Bueckers, Chelsea Grey and Kelsey Plum, the Indiana Fever star has played off the ball a lot more than usual. That could have also helped her ease back into competitive basketball.

Clark averages 12.8 points, 6.3 assists and 1.3 rebounds while shooting 45% from the three-point line. Safe to say, Clark is back and her injuries are in the rearview mirror. However, the real test is yet to come.

Caitlin Clark Sets Clear Goal For ‘The Hardest Game’ Against Top 2026 Draft Pick

So far, all the games have been a cakewalk for Team USA. They have won their 4 games with a cumulative margin of 196 points, including the 101-46 scoreline against New Zealand. The management has been able to rotate players and experiment with their combinations. Now, this young team finally faces its real test: Spain.

“I expect it to probably be our hardest game since we’ve been here,” Clark said. “They’re obviously a very good team. So I feel like getting off to a good start. We struggled in that area a couple of games, and then we did today. So I think getting off to a really good start for them will be a big key for us. But have a day in between to prep, so we’ll be ready.”

Spain has one loss against Italy in their four games. Aces’ Megan Gustafson is leading the Spanish side while averaging 14.5 points and 7.3 rebounds. Team USA could face some problems if they start the game the same rusty way they did against New Zealand.

But the more intriguing player to watch out for is a potential No. 1 2026 draft pick, Awa Fam. She is on the watch list for the Dallas Wings with new coach Jos Fernandez at the helm. The 19-year-old is averaging 8 points and 4 rebounds and it will be interesting to see how she matches up against elite WNBA talent. Her draft stock can get some boost if she impresses against the likes of Caitlin Clark.
