She is one of the most famous faces in all of basketball right now, but Caitlin Clark remains humble and never ignores the fans who’ve made her so famous. It has almost become a tradition for the WNBA star to sign autographs and take photos with fans before and after games. So as the United States got ready to face Hungary in thier first knock-out game in the quarterfinal against Hungary, Clark found time for the fans.

In a trending post on X, the WNBA posted a video of the Indiana Fever star signing autographs for the dozens of fans who were waiting for the basketball star. The American point guard, who was entering Team USA’s tunnel with security, stopped right before the entrance. Some fans brought her the Indiana Fever jerseys, and some brought her Team USA jerseys. A few fans were also seen with her Nike Kobe 5 Protro Caitlin Clark Indiana Fever 2025, a Nike PE sneaker released before her signature shoe earlier this year.

Clark had to go back to the locker room, and some fans were unfortunately left hanging.

The Fever star’s fan following has crossed continents, and it has been apparent at the World Cup in Berlin. Fans have been flocking to the arena to watch her play and get a chance to get their jerseys and shoes signed by Clark. Before Team USA’s tournament opener against China, Clark signed a fan’s basketball and took a selfie with a young girl who was wearing her Fever jersey.

Clark attending to her fans in the arena before the game, and sometimes after the game, is her way of giving back for their loyalty. This same tradition has made Debbie Elson an Indiana Fever season ticket holder, arguably the most famous Fever fan in the arena.

Elson has a ticket in Section 2 that is situated right above the Indiana Fever tunnel at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. As she enters the arena, dozens of fans line up to be selected by Elson for a chance to get her seat and, in turn, get a better opportunity at getting the WNBA star’s autograph. 

Now it is on Elson, who works as a night nurse in Indiana, to select the person she would give that lucky chance to see Clark up close or of very lucky, get the autograph. Although every time she breaks a lot of hearts because she can only give away her seats, she has a unique way of selecting the fan for the lucky moment.

“I try to spot the saddest kid. And I invite them to stand with me at my seat.” Elson said about how she selects the fan.

However, Fever guard has been doing a lot more than signing autographs when it comes to giving back to the fans. The Caitlin Clark Foundation works with charities and fundraisers to help students and young athletes get the resources they need. Clark has also silently donated to several causes, including one in August of this year.

Following the tragic passing of a beloved Indiana Fever fan, Jessica Schoffel, Clark silently donated $2000 to the GoFundMe started by her father, Rob Schoffel. The money raised in the fundraiser is being used to build Buddy benches at the Trumansburg Playground and books for classrooms in New York.

As for Team USA, they had a dominant start against Hungary in their quarterfinal game. They attacked Hungary from the start and took a 36-12 lead in the opening quarter, and the European team didn’t have an answer to the defending champions’ relentless offense.

The Americans beat their opponent in every single quarter, outscoring them in the second quarter by 23-18 and 34-17 in the third quarter, and 15-9 to win the contest 108-56 with a massive 52-point lead.

Clark was once again the architect of the offense and finished the game with 10 points and 9 assists.
