Game 2 was a matchup where everything was on the line for the Indiana Fever. So, it was always going to bring plenty of drama, but no one expected things to heat up quite this much. Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson got into a verbal confrontation with a Fever fan, and while it’s still not clear what the fan did or said, cameras caught Caitlin Clark’s former teammate Sydney Colson also getting into a heated exchange on the sidelines.

The heated moment involving Wilson came midway through the fourth quarter, when the Aces star confronted a Fever fan sitting behind the basket following a physical sequence with Sophie Cunningham. And while Wilson was eventually pulled away by teammates and officials, it wasn’t the end of the situation.

Another clip from the incident has now surfaced, showing Colson getting involved in the heated moment as well. The 37-year-old could be seen approaching the fans on the sidelines. In the video shared by Jaime Lardis on X, she can be seen approaching a fan and asking her who she thought she was.

As the incident made rounds online, several reports claimed that the fan was ejected from the arena. But as the game came to an end, the Fever made sure to address the situation, clarifying what actually happened.

“Following a report of a comment directed toward a player, arena security spoke with the fan involved and witnesses. Security determined there was no violation of the Fan Code of Conduct. The fan was not removed from the arena. We consider the matter closed,” the Fever said in a statement, per The Athletic’s James Boyd.

Colson may have stepped in to defend Wilson after the Aces star’s confrontation with the fan, as Wilson and Colson share a close bond after spending seasons together with the Las Vegas Aces. The two even won back-to-back championships in the 2022 and 2023 WNBA seasons with the Aces. But what makes Colson’s involvement particularly interesting, though, is that just last season, she was on the other side of this rivalry.

Colson is currently an unrestricted free agent, but she teamed up with Caitlin Clark and played for the Indiana Fever during the 2025 season before a left knee ACL tear cut her campaign short. She has remained out of the WNBA this season while continuing her recovery, but retirement does not appear to be on the 37-year-old’s mind just yet.

Wilson, meanwhile, has already made her stance clear on what happened.

“If I see a man come at me, taking steps towards me and pointing at me, I don’t give a damn what you said, I don’t give a damn how you said it, the tone; that is unacceptable. You don’t step towards me. You never should step and point at me. I’m not for that s*** at all,” the Aces star said during the post-game interview.

However, while the confrontation became one of the biggest talking points from the night, there was plenty happening on the court as well. The Fever entered this game as a do-or-die matchup and had to find a way to contain the Aces while making the most of their own offensive opportunities, and they eventually did just that.

Caitlin Clark once again led the charge for Indiana, finishing with 27 points, seven rebounds, and 15 assists. In doing so, she became the first player in league history to record a points and assists double-double in a single half of a playoff game. Her playmaking kept the Fever’s offense flowing throughout the night even though she fouled out in the last quarter. Kelsey Mitchell added another 26, while Aliyah Boston dropped 22.

The Aces had no shortage of firepower either. Jackie Young led the way with 31 points, and A’ja Wilson had 22. But Indiana just had no plans to lose this one. They continued to find answers whenever Las Vegas threatened to take control and ultimately pull away with a 99-89 victory.

This win has now tied the series at 1-1. So with Game 3 set for October 1 in Las Vegas, one of these two teams will see its season come to an end in less than 48 hours.
