“Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play. And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate…” Sure, it’s Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off. But at this point, it might as well be Caitlin Clark’s personal anthem. With how often Taylor and CC have been spotted hanging out, it’s getting harder to say who owns the lyrics more. Because, honestly, Caitlin lives them just as loud. After all, she has been a VIP regular at the private suites of the Eras tour.

Naturally, during a recent IG Live with Sydney Colson, one fan couldn’t resist testing that loyalty by dropping a bold comment. It was right after the Fever shook up the whole arena with their performance against the league-leading Lynx. That victory came without Caitlin Clark and her on-court celebrations. So, fans missed that. And they were not even treated to watching her dance on the sidelines like she did during her quad strain recovery period.

So, fans went all out and put a request that said, “Come on CC shake it.” By now, you have probably guessed how Caitlin Clark responded to that one. She had her signature deadpan look on. It screamed, “Are you serious?” Then, she managed to give the audience just the right amount of sarcasm while saying, “I don’t think you guys want that.” Not to be creepy here, but little does she know, the WNBA fans would even watch her simply breathe if they could.

Even Cardi B.’s WAP playing in the background wasn’t enough to persuade Caitlin Clark to shake it. Seems like she would like to stick to shaking things up on the court. She had made it clear after all when she rejected an offer to be on the primetime television show, Dancing With The Stars. Yep, the show that Iman Shumpert won, becoming the first pro-basketball player to take the Mirrorball Trophy home in Season 30.

At this point, it feels like Caitlin Clark has a waiting list of offers she’s saying “no” to. First, she passed on Ice Cube’s $15 million pitch to join the Big3. Then came the rejection of an NBA All-Star weekend. Followed by the Olympics 3×3 rumors, she quickly and neatly dodged. And now? She’s even side-stepping a fan’s live request to “shake it.” Because when you’re Caitlin Clark, simply existing is entertainment enough. Though lately, it seems she’s not the only one handing out rejections…

Caitlin Clark Rejected by fellow W players…

Caitlin Clark might be the undeniable face of the WNBA’s fanbase, but not everyone is eager to crown her just yet. The Indiana Fever star racked up a record-breaking 1,293,536 All-Star fan votes – the most ever in a single WNBA season – securing her captain spot for the 2025 All-Star Game in style. She also landed third in media voting. But, in a surprising twist, Clark finished ninth in player voting. She was even trailing behind her own teammate, Kelsey Mitchell.

Because of that, she lost the top weighted score among guards to Paige Bueckers. Bueckers narrowly beat her with a 3.25 average compared to Clark’s 3.5. The breakdown highlights a huge divide between her massive fan support and how fellow players view her. That said, Clark’s season hasn’t been perfect. She’s now missed 8 of the Fever’s 16 games. Although her stats (18.2 points, 5 rebounds, and 8.9 assists per game) are strong, she’s shooting just 29.5% from three and leads the league in turnovers (5.9 per game).

Still, ranking her ninth feels overly harsh to some. As The Facility’s Emmanuel Acho put it: “To rank her as the ninth-best guard leads me to believe that it’s either delusion or it is jealousy.” And it’s hard to ignore her impact: She opened the season with a triple-double and exploded for 32 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists in her return from injury. Opponents still game-plan for her like she’s public enemy number one. Meanwhile, her fans are making their feelings clear. Like the sign in the crowd that read: “9th in your rankings, 1st in your nightmares.”
