The W’s got its own Spider-Man, and no, he’s not swinging from skyscrapers. Instead, she’s draped in the same blue and red, dropping dimes and draining threes, Caitlin Clark. Clark has that uncanny court vision that feels like Spidey-sense. Her reflexes to duck a double-team look like she’s dodging flying debris. Then there’s, of course, the knack for turning an ordinary possession into a full-blown action sequence. But that’s not the funniest part. What really makes her the W’s Spider-Woman is something she shares with Tom Holland: the inability to keep a spoiler under wraps.

Remember, folks, this is the dude who once blurted out sequels before Marvel confirmed them, flashed a “confidential, do not share” Infinity War poster to millions on IG Live, and even spoiled Spider-Man going to space! And Caitlin? Turns out she was feeling just a little too inspired over dinner last night, because don’t be shocked, she went and “revealed” that she’s coming back and suiting up in Fever colors for the playoffs. Yes, you heard that right.

Only, unlike Tom Holland, this one wasn’t a slip; it was a perfectly timed prank on the viewers of Sydney Colson’s Instagram Live. Still, the whole thing was pure comedy. Aliyah Boston immediately looked like the responsible friend who knows this is how rumors start. Colson leaned right into the bit, and fans absolutely lost it in the comments. Caitlin was laughing behind the camera the whole time, like she knew she’d just dropped the kind of fake spoiler Marvel (WNBA) would’ve killed to keep under wraps. Here’s what everyone said-

Indiana Fever Fans Caught in the Web
A person, luckily for us, screen-recorded the live and posted the clip on X with the caption:

What’s your perspective on:
Did Caitlin Clark's Spider-Woman antics bring more laughter or confusion to the WNBA fans?
Have an interesting take?
Yep, that’s exactly what happened. And fans, of course, went into overdrive. One of the first reactions summed it up perfectly: “if syd actually ended right there everyone woulda gone insane lmfao.” Another couldn’t help but highlight Boston’s immediate concern, typing: “Poor AB lol.” Honestly, AB really did God’s work in that moment, because if Colson had cut the stream right there, without Boston clarifying, the internet would’ve actually “gone insane”.
Still, the energy rolled on as for those who missed it live, the comments later carried it. Someone asked, “Is she actually??” while another echoed the exact same thought with almost childlike hope: “But is it possible tho? That she can play even tho she said she’s out for the season?” And for anyone wondering: no, it’s not possible. Caitlin Clark is out for the remainder of the year. Adjustments have already been made, and the Fever are locked in to continue without her as they face the Dream in Atlanta, tip-off at 3 p.m. ET.
The absence stings, though. Indiana and Atlanta split their regular-season series 2–2, but there’s a twist, which is that both Fever wins came with Caitlin Clark in the lineup. She even suited up for one of the losses. Now, with her completely sidelined, Atlanta walks into the playoffs holding the upper hand. That didn’t stop fans from dreaming. One wrote: “Make the miracle happen and play please 🤣.” Another went all-in, convinced it was happening: “CAITLIN CLARK IS PLAYING ON SUNDAY OMG OMG 😳🙏 YESSS PLAYOFF HOOPS.”
But reality check: as Candace Parker put it, “I know it’s difficult to look at the big picture, especially if you’re living with tunnel vision and you’ve worked so hard to get to where you’re at. But it’s the smart thing.” And Lisa Leslie echoed the sentiment, drawing from personal experience: “I would not put Caitlin Clark back on the floor this season and the only reason why I say that is because I had the injury that she has. That deep groin injury is nothing to play around with. It can feel like you never had it, you make one move, one cut, and boom, she’s back in the same spot.” Translation here is to trust the legend: no Caitlin Clark until 2026.

The night, in the end, was just that: fun, chaotic, noisy. Even Brianna Turner popped into the comments to deadpan “quiet down ladies tysm.” Fans replied with their own “goodnight” sign-offs, still buzzing from the prank that shook W Twitter. On that note, until next time, folks. Stay locked in and let us know in the comments: how would you have reacted if Colson had actually ended the stream right there?
